    The purpose of it I guess was to remind a nation that was becoming all-sentimental, that she wasn’t the greatest PM and during her time as PM, remind people the catastrophic decisions and actions what she did to places like Goldthorpe

    The right wing politicians and activists are brilliant at blaming the policies and ideals they believe in on the opposition .
    Brilliant that a film is being made in Goldthorpe but the demise of our communities will now escalate now Brexit has its way and the brexiteers will blame the Europe’s and so it goes .
    Oh and to be consistent with the perceived sterotype

    The irony is that the people of Goldthorpe voted for Brexit. I bet there are a lot of people there and on here who hate Thatcher but voted with the Thatcherites for Brexit.

    Half the country can't remember the strike as they were either too young or not born. At some point places like Goldthorpe have to move on. What Germany and Japan suffered during the war was a lot worse than what Goldthorpe got but 30 years later they'd made massive progress. It's no point moaning about something that happened a generation ago. You have to rebuild.

    But Japan and Germany havnt forgot and have a rememberance service as does most of the world .
    If you don’t moan people especially politicians forget your there the Thatcher death funeral certainly got some recognition and reminded them choose how the press unfairly portrayed it .
    Three quarters of the country can’t remember the war are you telling the rest of us to move on ?
    As I Said right wing are good at blaming their ideals on others Goldthorpe certainly voted Brexit with anti Europe rhetoric from the right wing making its mark but it’s right wing Tory policies that plummeted Goldthorpe and others not Europe .
    But get enougn to say move on like the press and it’s parrots and that’s why we get left behind
