Stayed in same hotel as the Harlem Globetrotters in Puerto Rico, back in 1981. Got in same lift as them a few times and was mesmerised by how tall they were. Remember they had steaks for breakfast. I was only about 13 year old. Got a few signed photos somewhere.
Once flew to Tokyo on the same plane as Take That. Not a group I'm fond of, but they were friendly enough. I went through the arrival doors at the same time as them to a sudden screaming of crowds of teenage girls. It was like a scene from a Hard Days' night. Weird experience.
Ricky Hatton at Siam Park in Tenerife a couple of years ago. On same plane as Norman Hunter coming back from Menorca last month.
Watch every episode. She comes across as a decent lass, just with a talk down the nose annoying accent. Now if you had met Dave Hester I would have been really jealous YUUUP.
Played football with Rab Douglas in Torremolinos. Met Marcus Stewart and Kevin Davies years ago as well. Bumped into Shoaib Akhtar having a coffee at East Midlands Airport and met Big Sam in a WH Smith at Manchester Airport.
Watched the Charity Shield with Tim Healey in Porthleven, Cornwall few years back. That bloke can down a few whiskeys.
One day in Manchester Airport just after the footy season had ended, Anderson Da Silva and Hugo Colace were checking in at the next desk to me. Then Patrick Viera was behind me in the security queue. I can't claim to have been on holiday with any of them mind, as oddly enough none of them were on the Easyjet flight which I was taking to Helsinki. I did however fly last year from Riga to Leeds-Bradford on the same flight as Ken Livingston.
2015 - played football almost daily in Sarigerme (Turkey) with Hearts (now Wigan) winger, Jamie Walker, .
Just back from Barbados Kept bumping into my ex neighbour Robbie Savage. He is a good bloke & huge family man!
Laiked nipsy with bette midler on laithes lane playing fields last March. She was just under average at best but she had an easy manner and a warm heart. She bought me a skinny latte from the bikers cafe afterwards so if any of you are lucky enough to meet her, she likes a standard americano with 6 sweeteners. Don’t get her sugar, she goes leet.
I don't think i've seen anyone famous on holiday (though I did see a film (The Interpreter) being shot in NY years ago, think the scene had Nicole Kidman in it, but as she was stepping into a car, i've no idea!) At my local Sainsburys though... Jeremy Bowen, Robert Glenister, Jenny Éclair, Iain Glen, Adrian Lester, Helen Lederer and Linda Barker.
I walked past George Best in Chelsea, or maybe Fulham, one morning in the early 80s. He was already years past his peak. As he was probably on his way to the pub it would have been impolite to stop him for an autograph. About 10 years ago I saw Paul Gascoigne drinking alone on a Notting Hill pub. Now that was a sad sight. John Stones in Greggs shows we've made some sort of progress.
