Yes I know, but when you do get a great captain to lead the team (Redfearn, Hourihane) it gives all the players a boost. having a good leader is as important as having a great team ethic
I'd prefer an outfield player to be Captain. Don't think Davies talks enough to his immediate defenders at times, never mind players further away. Also, I think the Captain must be able to 'discuss' matters (complain maybe) to the Referee anywhere on the pitch. Can't do that on his goal line, which could end up with more of our players booked or missed free kick opportunities, etc.
I think the fact he is captain for the first game suggests the manager is looking for a new one, otherwise he'd just be named captain.
