On a similar topic where’s the best chippy in Barnsley - I fancy it before match on Saturday

Anywhere that cooks in beef dripping? That’s the sign of a proper chip oil

    Lumps of random loveliness...

Nothing worse than a chippy that only does Chinese curry sauce and not proper chip shop curry either, I’m not against them doing both and having a choice but if I wanted Chinese curry I’d go to the Chinese - from the chippy I want chip shop curry!

Agree with you about the dripping. No idea if anywhere in Barnsley still do that - but Whitby’s in donny and Rotherham do.

Pie Toms frozen mushy peas are a decent effort. 2 Minute microwave job like, but decent enough.

Can anyone remember the sloppy peas you got from Yasmin’s after kicking out time at Japanese whispers. Christ knows what he put in them but their colour made them that illuminous that you could light your way home

My agent just eats em and makes me have them too. Stevie's my facebook name not hers. Waldo's is the top chippie for us.

About 4 doors up from Paul Wilkinson’s barbers between whispers and the bus station. He used to sell every type of takeaway food going. I think he then went mobile and used to set up outside the Norman up Monk Bretton on bank holiday Mondays.
