If available (which I'm sure that he will be) does anyone else think that he could be the perfect loan signing (if Bradshaw does stay) or permanent replacement if Bradshaw does go?
I'm not doubting that he had a poor season or half season with Sunderland last season but we've all seen what a little confidence could do for him. I'm also quite sure that he'd be available at a cut price. I suppose it depends if the price is low enough and Feltch would be willing to take a pay cut. He was brilliant at this level a few seasons ago, would be a perfect fit in my opinion.

Didn't he play for Boro at the weekend?

I think boro would be happy to let him go and he’s be happy to come, the issue is his wages

Would be a massive pay cut though wouldn't it? Loan would be best the best we could hope for

Think its really time we move on from Fletcher and let him be. He was good for us back in this league before but he moved on and so should we. If Bradshaw stays which I hope he does then we would have no need to break the bank for a loan deal for Fletcher and Kieffer and Bradders should be our starting pair with Victor as back up. If Bradshaw leaves then I would rather us go out and buy someone that will be our player for 2/3 years rather than loan someone from Boro who we have no chance of signing permanently due to his high wages and the fact that Boro massively overspent on him and so they would want a big fee for him.

I don't see why he would come here. There's no connection for him to the club other than maybe Davies or Isgrove. Hecky was the one that always wanted him back. We've moved on.

Let's sign up Glavin and Hignett too. They were good for us years ago too.

Trouble with buying someone now for 2/3 years is gonna be problematic imo in respect of the Calibre that would come to league one then make the transition to championship if we were promoted straight away is either a gamble or we pay over odds for proven.
Imo we must do all we can to keep Bradshaw who is proven in both divisions

Keeping Bradshaw is vital I agree.

But in regards to Fletcher. If Bradshaw was to leave I would still personally rather go after a cheaper permanent signing from league 1 or 2 that would be cheaper to bring in than Fletcher. Someone like Chaplin maybe who is still young and offers pace to the side. Also would be available for 500-750k I reckon and on a smaller wage too. Would be a significantly smaller risk signing him over spending big on Fletcher who since leaving us has been poor.

tbh I don’t think we could afford fletcher or his loan wages .(hi ho silver)
So as you say it would have to be someone like Chester although I hope Victor comes good.

Victor looks promising for sure and hopefully he can do well.

I still would like to see one more striker signed before window closes as if we were to pick up any injuries up front we would be struggling.

A promotion seeking squad needs more than 2 main strikers and 2 strikers with potential.Moore and Bradshaw at some time will get injured/suspended.In my opinion we need another striker and winger before the window shuts.

Considering his wages I think better options could be found.
The lad has done really well for himself as it's likely he has earned a ton of money from one decent half a season spell at league one level. It's bonkers really.

Fletcher coming to a L1 club a few years ago was part of his development. SInce then he has made big money moves and played championship level. L1 loan would be a step back for him. For us I think we do need another striker to push the ones we have. 90 mins full press Sat and Tues for the 3 starters in Thiam, Bradders and Kieffer is hard to do and we will at some point need to have another option from the bench and one we can use in times of need injury, suspension etc. Makes sense for me for this to be either a young Prem loanee or a young up coming lad from L1/2 who can make a name and we can develop along the way. The biggest thing now is to keep the squad we have.

I tend to agree with this. Suppose we may just get a winger or a striker if Thiam can operate as either.
Still don't see Fletcher as a soloution to this

Problem with a prem loanee is we would probably have to play him every game when fit- I am sure thats what happened with Ugbo and Armstrong (and Williams) we dont want one of those as we want the manager to decide who starts and who is rested not another club. Id prefer us to sign another youngster from L1/L2 rather than loan one from the prem
Not sure why Fletcher would come back to us in L1 now.
Have to keep Bradshaw and Moore this week
