Well I'm a bit sorry that there's an apparent need to wollow in the apparent deficiency of the tactics of a certain Keith Hill.
Perhaps his League 1 Donkeys - which is all that can be afforded on a budget of **** all - were doing the best that they could - trying to play the way that their manager wants - not just lumping it up front.
If I were Keith I'd not be too concerned about "keeping it tight" because I have a philosophy about how to play the game.
That was what got him the Barnsley job. And he was doing alright till the cream of his squad - especially his midfield - got sold.
    So he's a Lancashire Gobshite.
And gets little money for old rope.
But he's gone back to where he came from without complaint or ego.
And does a good job on the income he has to work with.
    And deserves more respect.

Surprised to see Wimbledon conceded three at home tonight to Walsall.

Every team in football has their ceiling... Rochdale have always been a lower league team and whilst i'm no fan of Hill he's done a decent job for them.

Well tonight it seems to me as though with that response you have either joined the great pissed up (I am a card carrying member),or the non- intelligent response abuser.

    You can take your pick.

You can take your pick, I don't really care what you think of me.

We've won 4-0, it's a time for celebration. It could have actually been a lot more, we played fantastically well. Rather than celebrate that you chose to come on here and give me a lecture. John Dennis believes Keith Hill should have been sacked for the way he talked about Barnsley while he was in charge. Not sacked as in he gets paid off, but sacked because of breech of contract. Within his contract would have been a clause that he must promote the town and club of Barnsley at all times. He didn't, quite the opposite and quire often. I agree with what John Dennis said.

At one point Keith Hill came on the radio, when he was our manager, and pronounced Barnsley, Baaaarnsley, like the noise a sheep makes. You've heard people make that noise, everyone from Barnsley has, as other people try to belittle our town. Keith Hill did that when he was our manager. He deserves no respect from me. And I don't need to read that from you when I've just given an ex-manager a bit of pillock, who treated our club and town with no respect whatsoever. And I don't backtrack on my response to you, I stand by every word.

You're dead right. We won four nil. It's a time for celebration. So why post a thread having a go at the opposition manager?
I've no love for Keith Hill. His record as a manager is pretty damn respectable though and the reply you took objection to was merely a response to your post.
If you want to celebrate a win go ahead. But don't criticise someone for not concentrating on the win when your post was crafted to insult the opposing manager.

Of course he was. His midfield had Drinkwater, Vaz Te and Butterfield. Ar lass could manage that team to the top half of the championship. The calendar year that followed was unfathomably bad. If I remember correctly we had the worst record in league football.

Why have a go at Hill? Perhaps because he's a MASSIVE vvanker who frequently slated the club, fanbase and town during his disastrous Scott Wiseman-inspired tenure?

The fvckingcvnt. Obsessed with 1997, we were, apparently. Forgive me for being proud of my club's history. Tightrope with broken legs, shopping at Aldi.

The fvckingcvnt was laughing/smiling in the dugout on the day we sacked him. I feel entitled to have a go. Fvck him. Cvntybol1ocks.

    There was no lecture.

There was nothing deeper from me than what went on on the pitch. I explained my point of view.

You seem to me to be importing your own apparent Hill baggage into tonight's 90 minutes of football. That is your right.

We won, and I am happy as Larry about that.

I don't need to rub someone else's nose in it. Belittle the other side's manager, and especially so when he doesn't have anywhere near the dosh at his disposal to meet us on equal terms.

By all means if I don't share your view you can tell me to **** off and that I'm a pillock.

Now I know what I am.

You do realise it was 0-0 when I posted it, right?

    Oh, what's the point.

Yay, Keith Hill is great. Is that better?

Only two words are needed to win the argument

    Wiseman
    McNulty

    These are not
    I repeat not
    Championship players

I am still baffled as to why he signed them. And the signing of them demonstrated a total lack of football management acumen. It was blindly obvious they weren’t up to it yet he persisted.

I said after the Middlesborough match which I recall was his first or second home match in charge when he slated our fans that this would be the death of him - he was totally disrespectful to our fan base and therefore when he needed us time ran out very quickly.

I liked the number 3 at left back and I think it was 27, Marty Done still does a lot of running, the rest were gash.

Won't forget Keith doing the post-match interview after Watford away and saying that he wanted to go home at half time.

It was absolutely freezing and I don't think we had a shot on target all match. That game was probably the worst I've ever seen Barnsley play (although I don't see them all that often), I'd gone halfway across the country and paid 25-odd quid to watch it, and the bloody manager gets up and practically admits that he'd given it up by half time. Never really warmed to him after that.

Edit: Actually looks like we did score (in the 94th minute, making it 4-1). I must have gone mad with excitement and blacked out.

He's been complimentary of us in this interview and as someone predicted had a pop at his own fans towards the end.

Well done fella's - you were absolutely superb tonight - a joy to watch. Not quite sure why the thread is revelling in slagging off Keith Hill but each to their own. As for playing it out from the back - maybe it was foolish but it's the way we play and absolutely non of your goals came from playing this way - in fact your first 3 goals came from us attacking. Good luck for the season - keep it up and you are in for one hell of a ride.
