Last couple of years they have shown Champion's and Europa League qualifiers, but this season they have only shown the second leg of the Aberdeen Burnley tie. Does anyone know if there is a reason for the reduced coverage?
I read somewhere that the Burnley game was on telly, but on a channel I'd never heard of and have now forgot. You don't know what it is do you, please?
I think the qualifiers tend to not be included in the package sometimes. I don't think any broadcaster bid for these games but the group stages onwards will all be on BT Sports.
They ( BT) won the exclusive right to show Champions League coverage up to 2021. They bid £1.2 billion. As a result Sky and ITV have lost the rights to show Champions League games highlights. As well as football, I am also a keen follower of Speedway. Because my family live in Poole in Dorset, I go down on holiday and whilst there go to watch the Poole Pirates. I've noticed that the Premier League meetings are no longer shown on Sky and the rights have also been won by BT Sports, so their Sports portfolio is increasing. I bet they bid for Test cricket when that comes up for offer next.
