Spuggy I've no idea how old you are but in the early 70s there was a competition for clubs North and South of the border who just missed out on euro places. It was called the Texaco Cup. I saw united play Derby, sheff u, Leicester in it. It was a pleasant change to see different teams but never really took off. But I do agree both league cups need revamped somehow. Oh and could your plan possibly include Dundee United from our championship

Could scrap both our league cups and put all sides in to a British league cup. Rather watch us play teams like Alloa and Cowdenbeath in a British league cup, than premiership kid sides in the football league trophy.

We'd get Ards, Carmarthon or Aberwystwyth and either Inverness or Elgin - nothing against any of those clubs, just the distance to travel to each of them.

800 Rangers fans at Ipox in December? They'll be luck to get that.

Rangers fans get away with a lot of sectarian stuff, usually about being up to their knees in Fenian blood. A year ago Darfield-Red was on here defending it because he thought English people wouldn't understand it. That's alright then.

Last season after the 5-0 all the blue zombies had gone by the end so didn't have to listen to the IRA chants. Yesterday they were held back and went mental.

All pathetic and so embarrassing. And what's worse the authorities all turn a blind eye and deaf ear to it. It's fkn mob rule with that lot. Utter scumbags.

Ha no I've heard some before, often heard them singing Celtic Synphony with the "up the ra" at the end and I've often heard the IRA line added to Fields of Athenry etc. But rarely have I heard the IRA song, Broad Black Brimmer and Boys of the Old Brigade belted out altogether. I think the Green Brigade get away with these as they're slid in between all the 'ultra' chants and folk songs etc. It goes from singing zombie nation to Scott Sinclair to singing about H blocks and Bobby Sands.

Tbh if that’s yesterday Celtic should be docked points for their players actions and until the SFA and Governing authorities do something about it it will never cease. EUFA should ban them both from Europe till it’s sorted , I’ll not hold my breath though with some European teams/fans antics ignored by them

Rangers of the late 80s/early 90s had some notable players Chris Woods Terry Butcher Ray Wilkins Mark Walters Mark Hateley Richard Gough Gazza Ally McCoist Gordon Durie and probably would have competed in the top English league at the time but nowadays the player quality is light years behind.

Didn’t get to see yesterday’s but generally enjoy these games due to the high tempo & great atmospheres.

I think Celtic would be one of 12 clubs in the premier league who are pretty average & could finish anywhere between 9th & 20th.

Rangers & Aberdeen championship level & I’ve not seen enough of the rest but doubt many would hack it in the championship, possibly Hearts.

I can’t understand the religious chanting, it’s 2018 just grow up, Protestant or Catholic, it’s all made up nonsense anyway

I think there is some value in this but I agree 100% with Marlon that any idea must exclude the ugly sisters. I don't want either of them anywhere near our leagues or cup competitions, more so as they might try to use it as leverage to achieve their ultimate goal of inclusion in our leagues.

Celtic fans all seem to love the pro Ira ***** and its not just the green brigade. I honestly think they revel in it all

You only have to walk in odwyers or watch some of their away days

As has been suggested, take the League Cup. Kick out the Prem teams, they're not interested anyway and bring in Scottish teams, preferably without Celtic and Rangers. Throw in a couple from Northern Ireland and Ireland too.

If that was Barnsley who's whole ground was singing religious songs and who's players were dancing along, Oakwell would have been closed down. The authorities should force Celtic(and Rangers if it happens in the reverse fixture) to play behind closed doors until the fans get the message they are acting like dickheads. Wouldn't take the club long to sort the issue if they were losing their gate receipts on a weekly basis...

I reckon it should be scrapped and the FA Cup made into a proper competition again, with replays and a Champions League slot for the winner.

The big problem is that the SFA is celtic and rangers. They make the rules and ignore the antics. Police Scotland seem equally reluctant to do anything. All very sad.
