And a lot of the supporters were still struggling from the aftermath at the time a lot of businesses dependant on the mines and communities were struggling at the time. The introduction acknowledges the struggles a lot of its supporters and families were facing at the time. It’s part where we come from our history and what’s made us stronger going forward . Miners , miners families were a massive part of BFC
First 5 minutes or so setting the scene of what had happened to the area. It's not a film about political struggle more about how the team gave hope and enjoyment to the area in the aftermath.
Great film, great night! Saw Super John with a few tears near the end. Danny Wilson....what a guy! If he’s decided to retire from coaching I’d love him in some kind of ambassador role like Barry Murphy has. Great to see Eric look so well. Scott Jones comment at the end (made me tear up a bit) John Dennis...still a disgrace how he’s not recognised officially by the club. He must have been very proud though Jan Fjortoft....cool guy! Shezza didn’t get the dress code then! Dickie Bird...no comment haha Gary Willard...had actually forgot he walked off during that Liverpool match. Idiot Film kind of made me warm to Chris Morgan a little....not sure I like that Alan Biggs the journo...love how he kept taking credit for stuff. If we go up this year he’ll probably say he once went on holiday to German so that made club go for Stendel
No Mark McGhee I don’t think Something along the lines of “I never found what I wanted when I left Barnsley because everything I wanted was right there” sniff
Maybe not so much these days, but he was certainly liked back in those wonderful days , he did really well for such a young player .
Apart from the near death blow that he gave to Hulme which I certainly don’t think he meant those injuries but it was intentional imo though he says it wasn’t and was cleared . It was the conivence with Blackwell and the attitude after that made it more hard to take.
Cheers Gally - means a lot that people liked it. It's been a long 18 months & we're incredibly proud of it - hopeful the reaction this week & when the DVD comes out is the same!! I'm so hungover.
That was his second elbow on Hume . Did him with his right elbow after the ball had gone upfield . No blame on the ref with that one but the linesman should have seen it . Hume did complain to the ref .
