Seemed appropriate. So I know that there's a few NFL fans on here, who's your team & how far do you think they'll go this year? My Falcons play tonight against the world champion Eagles, a game we're not expected to win but I do see us making it to the playoffs again. Our defence has to step up though, there's a lot of talent there but last year had the fewest amount of turnovers in the NFC. Plus the NFC South is stacked at usual, I've seen a lot of picking the Saints to go all the way. But anyway would love a win tonight, that'd be some sweet revenge. And for those that follow NCAA at all I'm hoping that my Utah Utes can finally win the Pac-12 south, one hell of a tough schedule though.
I'm sorry but it's ridiculous to call them World Champions or indeed call themselves World Champions as it clearly isn't played internationally. American Champions, All American Champions would suffice
Like the World Series in Baseball, one/two countries does not count as the entire world, however highly the Americans might rate themselves
I'm genuinely not having a pop I just find it quite annoying that a team, club or indeed a person can claim World Champion status when clearly it's nonsense.
Baseball = Rounders Basketball = netball American football = catch All “sports” that little girls play at every British school.
If this is supposed to be insulting then you should be aware that little girls in North America play soccer.
Not particularly a fan of any of those sports but i'd love to see how you'd feel after being tackled by some of the big units in NFL! What with it being a girl's sport and all...
New England patriots..its iin the name. Do actually like the game. But obviously not as keen as yourself.
The World Series name in baseball actually derives from the sponsorship in the early years when the final series was sponsored by The World newspaper. The paper has long since ceased printing, but the name has always stayed with the final series. Interesting little fact for the day there.
Im quite a big chiefs fan. A bit of a transitional season for us this time with a new qb but we should be more exciting to watch. Our defence is garbage though. The only reason we will make the play offs is because our division is so poor. Anyone going to any of the wembley fixtures this year? Also does anyone play fantasy nfl?
Seattle Seahawks. Actually went to Centurylink field last year - 80,000 people for a preseason friendly. It's basically Rugby League on steroids. Can't see the problem with World Champion status, even if it was truly global, a US team would win.
Definitely an exciting team, looking forward to watching some of their games. Defensively yes a little suspect but I think it'll improve a little this year, what's also suspect is Andy Reid's postseason record at the Chiefs, what is it now like 1-4? I mean it's great that you consistently make it but I still can't believe you guys lost to the Titans last year, after the game I was like "what the hell did I just witness?"
49ers fan so been a pretty abysmal couple of decades since the glory days. Expecting the play offs with Jimmy Garoppolo as the quarterback. Pressure on him to justify his huge salary when he was only the back up to Tom Brady at the Pats. Lucky to have him as he would take over from him when he's done. But can't blame the lad wanting to play instead of waiting for that chance. Speaking of Tom Brady I was shocked how far down the list of the 32 QBs he is for pay. He was in the 20s despite being the very best arguably ever. Sky Bet are always good with their NFL request a bet section. They usually put up a field goal for both teams in every Sunday match. It doesn't come up too often but at odds of around 50 to 100 to 1 you only need a couple per regular season to be quids in.
I read somewhere that in an entire game of Gridiron the ball on average is only in play for 11 minutes. It's a game that's all crust and no meyt.
