Not missed a game so far home or away inc Oldham and Blackpool and missed out on a Peterborough ticket. My owm fault i know but could have really done with going to this game
Bound to be some infiltrating the home areas. It would be a shame if a chairman's intransigence was a contributory factor to a spot of unnecessary trouble. I don't see why they didn't automatically allocate the area behind the goal to us from the start. If we were Sheffield United or some other big club there would have been no question about that. It was always very likely that there would be a big demand for tickets, given our excellent start to the season. Win well tonight and that will encourage even more to go.
Seriously considering it myself. The ground holds 15k plus and they had 6k or was it 8k for the last home game. Loads of room. I will ring their box office and ask them which is the best stand to sit in to avoid 'trouble' as a serious question/ bit of a wind up. If those that haven't got tickets all did that they might relent as give us a few more.
Me and wife go regular and sit in away end, a bit of resolve is needed at times, Oldham, Blackpool and Scunny so far this season, and all i do is put an opposition scarf over mi neck, but then again i've got every club scarf in football league, half of scotland, non league, and a large selection of european ones too, 200 or thereabarts. Watching the Barnsley fans from an opposition end of the ground is awesome. BE GOOD, BE CAREFUL, BE RESPECTFUL.
That's how it should be mate. You should be able to respectfully sit with the opposing fans without fear of trouble.
Just rung them!! They said they were sold out!! Just over 12k and no tickets would be available on the day. She assumed I was a Barnsley fan, though I didn't tell her. When I asked her where the safest place to sit would be she said the away end but it was sold out.A strange conversation, I cannot have been the only one to try this approach.
Turning money away aren't they with those numbers. With that in mind I have a sneaky feeling they'll open a couple of turnstiles on Saturday.
I've had a look at their website and you have to sign in, so can't tell if there are tickets available or not. It's a category A game though, that's all I can see, and the prices.
Think that's the key word Winker... be respectful.. In the away end at Walsall one year, well, side. All was fine until Bruce Dyer bent a peach into the top corner.. forgot where I was. All was not fine after that.
Looks like they have different priority's to us... Where we will drop our kecks and bend over and turn any of our home games into a home game for the opposition, if there's enough dosh in it.. Maybe the Peterboro chairman is more focused on the 3 points They gave Pompey fans 4k and lost the game... maybe a lesson learned...
We always applaud a goal both ways, but i must admit at times tha forgets thisen, give it a go get thi sen in away end do thi homework and stick to good areas, and avoid places equivalent to our Ponty ect.
Ah right, so how come they've won all their aways when the opposition have had more fans at the games? Think you need to rethink that theory mate.
Totally different scenario all together . When was last game we had capable of selling 3and half sides of ground with home fans ? And if your suggesting we should deliberately undersell away end to less than half capacity and turn away revenue cos the players can’t concentrate on their game because of noise from away fans . Christ ar do we go on at away games then ?
