Watched it all through. Many thanks Tony. just love this town and Bruce and to have Bruce come out with those comments means so much. ( Had the pleasure of his company on quite a few occasions ). Brings back also the massive contribution john and his directors gave to this club of ours.

Not really that interested in John Dennis's love life to be honest.

John Dennis is the best Chairman in my lifetime.
You only have to look around the ground to realise this.
    A great achievement.

We will always be extremely thankful to Patrick for lifting the club out of administration - but it’s John Dennis that built Barnsley Football Club.

Because I think he’s a top fella I’ve tried talking to John on a few occasions and found him to be quite aloof, a bit of a cold fish.
He tends to just stand there and look at me as tho I’m big and daft.

    I had mi clothes on.
I try talking to him in the West Stand.
I usually see him as I come out of the toilets at the back of the West Stand - so I suppose I could be stood chatting to him with mi **** out.

Wow! If there has been a single oversight during the inaugural BFC hall of fame, it's John Dennis.

How? He was invited, he was with us, he presented Redders with his induction near the end, and was up on stage speaking about his time in charge.

The panel didn't shortlist him this year, but it's pretty much nailed on that he'll get in there eventually. Arthur Fairclough, Ernie Hine, Mick McCarthy, Tommy Taylor weren't inducted this year either. It's an annual event.

It will hopefully go on and on for years. Hence keeping the number of inductees low each year.

By all means question the panel and club regards who should and shouldn't be inducted and in what order (stands to reason), but there was no 'oversight' regards one of the most important men to be associated with our great club. Far from it.

Looked like a splendid night from the photos I have seen and another reason to be proud of our club. JD has to be in next year mind. One question I have to ask is couldn't you get a member of the family of Tiverton Preedy to turn up? I guess it would have been a long shot because it was that long ago so best we could have done would have probably been a great great great uncle that supports a London club, but I bet as a club we tried to track someone down to accept his award. A lot of them probably aren't even aware of his significant history.

OK, the semantics of my post haven't come across very well. The "wow" was directed at the podcast and not linked to my observation (not criticism) of the Hall of Fame proceedings, of which I've watched both the highlights and the full video. My comment on the YouTube video would support how much I enjoyed and appreciated the work done by the club in this respect.

To rephrase, I would have loved for John Dennis to have been shortlisted by the panel as one of the inaugural inductees, for his work done in helping the club to the Premier League and in the development of the ground. Again, just a personal opinion, not a criticism.
