Conan isn't happy if we win, presumably unless we're in Europe. And even then Pinnock should have been tighter on Messi. He thinks that every player we have is ****. It's the way he is. If we win two in a row we don't hear from him. We ought to embrace that and move on. However, we are not as good as many think we are. The home performances have generally been great for a few minutes. When we don't swamp them, or when we run out of steam, we look average and vulnerable. Most games I've seen, I would have thought it's them pressing rather than us.
Moany...Some folk agree with ya, others don't...deal with it. Genuine question. Are you an only child?
Ahh. Conan. I did say sorry for upsetting you. I repeat it again. I did not appreciate your sensitivity. I do believe that you think we should get rid of all our players. Apart from the recent ones. Perhaps an update on Dougall, Woodrow and Bahre is needed from you - just to measure the size of the skip we need.
I've got O levels and A levels, I consider myself intelligent, but I haven't got a clue what this thread is about. Ah well, ne'er mind.
So if I am guessing correctly Conans is sarcastically saying there should be no criticism of the club on this message board. This is because people are contradicting his negativity with some positive counter arguments pointing out the things that are good this season, Conan is having a go at those. The problem is he is so relentlessly negative each time he posts peoples backs are already up because he never says anything constructive - "Get rid of every single player" -for example - he makes critical comments everytime we dont win by 4 clear goals, but he goes quiet when we do win by 4 Of course there are things that can be improved - some posters see only the positives in the club - though its a bit harder after the last 2 performances, some only see the negatives - Conan is one of those. Reality is there are some things that are very good and some things that can be improved, the improvements take time and money. Im happy with our start to the season though we do need to fix whatever has just broken - Conan appears to be happier with the last 2 games as it proves him right that there is a lot wrong.
I think even the most positive posters commented on how poor we were on Tuesday. Not so much Charlton, because it was put down to being off day against the better team on the day. It's a lot easier to be negative about everything and say "I told you so", because **** normally happens to the majority of football clubs. Very few are consistently getting it right. All you can hope for is that some people actually get on board when we play really well. It's one thing saying some fans don't criticise the club enough, but it works both ways.
Wrong wrong wrong. Firstly I posted after two of the 4-0 victories. I don't expect us to win every week and certainly not by four clear goals. My reasoning for looking to move these players on is simple. They are not good enough for the division above - which is where we want to be. We would be daft to give them three year contracts and be stuck with them in the Championship. If we are we will come straight back down. This is my opinion based on last season and this. Of the games I have seen this season I have not seen any real improvement from last - the opposition just look weaker. As I have said before, of the players who played last season the only ones I would have kept are the ones we didn't/couldn't. If we offer Davies a new contract and we plan to play him as first choice in the Championship (if/when we get back there) then we might as well not bother going back up. Look how low the bar was set last season. 0.91 PPG. We couldn't even manage that.
I don't mind been critical but you have to question those who constantly criticise and never post praise or go missing when we win. Or those who slate the players but don't like the home support getting slated.
Don't disagree with the majority of that but id keep about 5-6 players- not necessarily as starters but likes of Potts, Dougall, Moore, Pinnock etc. It would be crazy to expect a different outcome I agree but i guess the board is in a difficult position because they have to assume we're going up in your plan of not offering contracts? I guess if we didnt then some would need to go anyway!
If we move every player on, who are we going to buy? Last time we were in the Championship, we bought players who'd never played there, with a view to selling them on for a profit. I believe that is still the business model. I don't think we'll be buying tried and tested Championship players on large salaries, unless something has changed. Do you think we will?
It would be nice if we got a transfer window right and didn't end up weaker than we were at the start of it. That is my biggest frustration. A good chance to bounce straight back is going to peter out because of it.
