I really can't get my head around the incidents from this game. A manager so openly goading opposing fans. Some idiot throwing coins at that manager. Manager falling to the floor, as if he's just had a finger brush him while on the pitch in his playing days. A few idiot fans trying to tap/slap a goalkeeper. Goalkeeper collapses... like he's been shot. (The last thing I'd likely do if punched (unless I wasn't physically able) is lie on the floor in front of the assailant). I don't think manager, fans or player alike have come out of this incident with much dignity intact. Are players so ingrained on buying fouls that any contact of any sort has short wired their thinking to fall to the ground? The guilty coin thrower and the one who aimed a slap should absolutely be dealt with. But the goalkeeper and particular the manager should absolutely be dealt with too.
Just seen the footage on sky sports news of Lennon's behaviour. Completely ridiculous but nobody deserves to get a coin chucked at them. I appreciate emotions were running high and he's probably getting a tonne of abuse during the match but two wrongs don't make a right.
Both mate. Scotland is little N. Ireland. Lennon is a *****. No doubt about that and he knows exactly what he is doing. Plays the victim when tbh he brings things on himself. Football at times is just a sideshow to sectarianism which blights Scotland.
Surprised what happened to Lennon doesn't happen more often. You see it week in week out guys involved in the game taunting from the safety of the playing area thinking they are untouchable. Plenty of occasions in our games like Moncur at Peterborough and one of the Shrewsbury scorers last week. An idiotic fan tanked up on cheap lager isn't going to care about what happens to them at the time when emotions are running high. The fan wants banning for life but Lennon as a 'professional' didn't help matters.
Sorry if I’m being ignorant mate. But is sectarianism a Scotland in general or Glasgow thing. I didn’t think the Edinburgh derby held the same significance.
Mostly Glasgow and the West mate. But the Hearts / Hibs game is a protestant / catholic thing but not as bad as the rangers /celtic version. Here in Dundee in the east we are relatively free of the sectarian nonsense.
I often think the same when people say "my thoughts and prayers are with you" wonder how many of those people actually pray.
HaHa I'm no biting mate. I'll give you the passionate and winner but he is a total bellend and his behaviour bears this out.
Do you have to meet someone in his position to decide their actions are totally unprofessional when you’ve just seen them with your own eyes?
Yes I have , he falls in to the catagorie of a lot of managers with there passion for the game unfortunately the abuse he receives is incredible,
I agree with the comment of the abuse he gets but as I said previous he does bring an awful lot on himself. His passion only mirrors the passion of football fans. Emotions run high and too high at times and he should know that and behave appropriately. Strange how the passionate and winner SAF never got the same amount of abuse.
I think you maybe know the answer to your last point , if you look at our own manager showing his passion since he has arrived having a few run ins with the opposition dugout I love the passion, if you’ve managed a team and are a winner that’s what happens if that’s your personality
