I'm not sure if you have seen the quality of our corners & set pieces this season? We have a 6 foot 5 inch striker in the team & the quality of ball we are putting into the box is woeful.

Fryers can hit a dead ball well but needs a lot of work admittedly. Conor did not learn this overnight. We lost most of our dead ball players last season & no one has stepped up to the mark as yet. Moncur is an option, if he's in the starting eleven. Most of the time he isn't, as he can't play 90 minutes.

    Fair play

    I love Conor

I think Hignett was a more naturally gifted player though and everything he hit for us that season went in - he nearly (pretty much) single handedly took us into the premier league - that would have been some achievement.

Back to being Bonkers, Hignett was a top top talent. He played in the premier league for a number of years before joining us, plus a couple after he left.

He scored 30 odd goals in 18 months and single handedly nearly took us back to the Prem.

He was one of the most talented players I’ve seen play for us in nearly 40 years.

Connor was good but he was nowhere near as good as Higgy.

Both were class, I just think when Conor retires and looks back at his whole career, it will be a better one than Hignett had. Sad thing is he was 28 when we signed him, so like a lot of our legends they would never have joined us in the first place if we had our current transfer policy around back then.

Hignett, Hendrie, Ward, Wilkinson, Wilson, Sheridan, Muller, Barnard... all great players who had a huge part in making some great memories who we wouldn't have signed.

    Agree it's a shame.

Seen the quality even vith him in the side, he’s no better. Hedges has a good delivery but hardly gets a game for some reason and it’s not just from set peices, no vingers to get the ball into the middle in open play. Main reason ve should have kept Mallan, his delivery vas phenomenal, better than Hourihanes.

I think Hedges still isn't fit enough to play 90 minutes on a regular basis. I haven't written him off. I'm also keen to see how Fryers does at this level, under Stendel. A lot of last season's write-offs look a lot better this season. He had had very little game time before he was dropped in a Championship relegation scrap.

To be fair, I don’t rate either left back but I think Pinillos is better than Fryers. A new one should have been signed though.

Hedges is the one I think could kick on and be the stand out player in this league if given a run of games. Moore vould also benefit too from someone who’d get the ball in the box often. But Stendel seems to like playing 3 number 10’s instead.

I agree as much as I enjoyed watching Conor he was the best midfielder since higgy for me. Higgy was a joy to watch, great on the ball could pick a pass, scored for fun from midfield. Great times watching the reds ( would of been better if barnard hadn't missed that pen at wembley)
