The present owners bought BFC because they liked the way the club was being run but after being in control nearly twelve months the squad is the weakest we have had since Hill was the manager With a third of the season gone and seven points adrift of top spot the pre-season talk of walking out of this division looks unlikely. Teams are exploiting the physical weakness of young players, yet fans blame the referees. The team is overloaded with central midfielders, no wingers and one striker, neither Brown nor Adeboyejo are experienced or good enough and badly needs stenghthening in January. Under the plan now operating we would never have seen Clarke,Hunter, Glavin, Aylott, Redfern, Ward, Hendrie and Hignett, you could count the numbers of players in the side now good enough to play in the Championship on one hand. Last November at a ST meeting GG stated that the club were making a small profit on attendances of 11,000 so in league one and on similar gates the financial side should be healthy enough to speculate and avoid a further season in this league. To carry on as we are may improve the finances but how much longer will the fans spend watching third division football. Stendel hasn't helped the situation by stating pre-season he was happy with the squad and ending up playing 4-5-1 out of necessity. When Heckingbottom did this in the Championship after the club sold half the side the fans soon jumped on his back.
6 minutes before kick off you decide to post this. Oh dear. Get behind the lads it might do the world of difference in the long run.
Just seen this post, I totally disagree with it,not been to the game today either. My analysis of the club gives a opposite view.
(Shakes head in disbelief) - I am impressed with the way Stendel has adapted- hit the ground running after a terrible season last year! We are still in the mix with January transfer window coming up - we are financially in a strong position if we need to add more players.
Well put that. So many of our best players and legends we would never have seen grace Oakwell under our current policy. We are lucky this league is full of garbage. So few are good enough for if we go back up. Where we are in the league is good, but could be better. In January we could do with a handful of players. A keeper to press Davies, two full backs with pace, a winger and a striker.
You ask how much longer will the fans spend watching 3rd division football ? strange thing to say , when the minimum to get promoted is one season, not the whole 3 months we have watched so far , unless you have forgot , we watched championship football last season .
Majority of players you're comparing these to wouldn't have been on big money or cost a great deal in the grand scheme of things. Other than that, the 2016 promotion team mostly came in on the cheap and did well in the championship.
Tha talking ********. In the summer l predicted us and Sunderland would walk it. I still think that, look at the ***** at the top. Sunderland have had a season full of injuries, they're still not at full strength. Once they get to full strength they will win the league at a canter.
