Signed, what a disgrace we haven't got that much left in Featherstone but Rugby League is one thing we do have and need to keep it at the Academy.

As a School governor at an academy that is part of a large academy trust I am concerned that the governors of this school do not recognise how much a school is so deeply embedded within the local sporting culture of it's community.

Really hope you get the result you want with this - I dispare with schools in general not liasing with there local community sports clubs.
My experience is that a lot of local clubs would jump at the opportunity of getting into schools to give coaching to promote their sports.

I know the head govonor of the school, I coach her daughter at rugby. She warned the head of the school that changing to RU would back fire. He ignored her. He’s been in touch with her today saying he didn’t realise what an impact it would have. They have a meeting with him tomorrow now.

Fev Rovers been in touch with me today. Gonna do an article on website officially backing the petition and are in contact with local news papers .

Signed - couldn't open the link earlier when I posted. Also answered my question about whether Union had ever been part of the school in years gone by. Good luck.

I was at St Wilf’s as well so I remember the Union only rule - weren’ t allowed to play football at all. Nearly killed me! Ironically it’s where I got my love for League and for Castleford because the school had so many kids from Cas and Kippax. More power to yr elbow Bud. I’ll be signing. As I say to my Union supporting mates “do you mean Union, or the proper stuff where you’ve got to be fit.”

St Wilfred’s were always Union when I went to Fev high but they actually play league now.

The RFU offer a 10k grant to schools playing league to change to union. Think this is what’s happened here
