He has denied all claims. We shouldn't really be commenting either way as we don't know details of the case. Great to see the "guilty until proven innocent" mindset is still the way with the British public.
It’s not sympathy he needs it’s the proper help and support from loved ones.. if he has been offered lots of help and he is still suffering it shows how ill he really is .... most sufferers of addictions need to hit rock bottom before they can begin their recovery.. I speak from experience.. giving up on them will result in one thing... again I speak from experience..
There are mental health issues that make people commit sexual assault, murder and other crimes. Most of the people that have those are locked up for a very long time after they are caught (sometimes prison, sometimes secure mental accommodation).
Don't get me wrong I'm not intending to be overly critical of him, I accept he clearly needs proper help from professionals. My worry is that he either doesn't believe he needs help or he takes it but once he's away from the help he surrounds himself with the wrong people and the cycle begins again.
This thread is premature. What if Gazza has run into someone on a train who is even more troubled than him, and who wants to make a few bob by accusing him of summat that he hasn't done? Never mind that - let everyone wade into Gazza nevertheless. Mob rule. None of us were there. If it turns into a conviction, then get on your soapbox.
It wasn't a slur, no. However if you get **** ends twisting every word them I'm sure you could turn it into one.
Read my first post in the thread, I've stated that he hasn't been convicted of anything yet. And yes you're quite right that this could be opportunistic. It's quiet feasible that he was spotted and seen as an easy target. I don't know, but he does have his demons and he needs help, that is not in question.
You are right mario and he won’t get better until he hits rock bottom and removes himself from the people who are enabling him to drink etc
So why speculate? It's like saying "if X has committed murder he should receive the appropriate sentence" We all know that.
So where was the soapbox? I said if found guilty but also said he hasn't been found guilty. That's not really speculating is it? I haven't speculated on the charges, nor his guilt.
How exactly have I misinterpreted your stance? You have taken exception at people saying he should know not to sexually assault somebody because "mental health ***** the brain" That's a ridiculous thing to say. It is unquestionably offensive to suggest that just because somebody has bipolar disorder, or depression, or whatever, that they cannot tell right from wrong, and you have the gall to suggest other people are being ignorant? Given the above though I'll attribute it to stupidity rather than malice.
You've gone on to say what a shame it is he's turned out the way he has. And if he is guilty etc... That's speculating. if I post summat like "well he might not have done it and isn't it great how he will have turned his life around if found not guilty" etc..then don't you think it would be daft?
Well I don't think that people should jump to commentating upon the merits or otherwise of a person's character just because something about them has appeared in the news. Irrespective of what they've done before. Paul Gambaccini, Cliff Richard and quite a few others might well justifiably agree. And to say that "if" they've done as alleged, then they're ***** or disturbed or even in need of help - then that is in my opinion an opinion that is better not shared at this point on a forum. Until proved. Nowt personal btw.
Seriously wtf are you on about? Are you trying to wind me up or something. I defended Gazza but said I would lose sympathy if he was found guilty. I just don't see the point you're trying to make so I'm done. Nowt personal back at you.
