My synopsis on todays festivities. There's a feeling that Donny were better than us, they weren't but and its a big but they were the best team we've played this season, hands down. If you look at moments in isolation, then they had their chances, it was a bit like when we used to go to Hillsborough (when they were good). We have chances and thought we were the better team when the stats say otherwise, after 15 pints. It was a funny game, we didn't play well, scratch that, like we have, but it was a close fought end to end game, which was enjoyable fayre. To the game itself I though Donny did well, nothing more, I think they looked good in possession and tried to play far more than any side so far this season, and hats off to them for that, but **** me, how many of our lot had stinkers? I'll give ratings to explain. Davies - 9 for the last minute alone he gets 2 more points, world class save. His kicking isnt great but who's is in league 1? Seriously the **** he gets from the fans and my mates is ridiculous. Cavare - 4. He could be a world beater. Theres times when he gets us out of the ****, through brute strength or speed, then his brain goes mental and he is Dog and Duck. Pinillos - 5 - Like watching Neil Thompson aged 56. Pinnock - 9 Faultless. His positional sense goes a bit but without him we'd have lost, simples. Lindsay - 6 Bang average. Hedges - 3 - ******* ****.Nothing going forward and weak as ****. If anyone can say hes an upgrade on Hammill they're Young Nudger. Mowatt - 6 worked hard but very meh. McGeehan - 2 Like watching a kid play football. Every pass he made basically put someone in **** or a bouncing pass to someones bellend. ******* **** as I've ever seen anyone Bahre - 5. Started well, loves a roll over, c1992. Gradually got weaker as the game went on and nearly cost us 2 goals by the end. Moore - 5 ****. **** touch, wasteful in front of goal, mardy, meh. Potts - 5 - ****. Worst game for ages, thought though he was getting better before he went off. Subs Thiam - 5 - Fell over the ball again. Woodrow - 7 Should have started. Moncur 7 - Stendel hates god.
Moncur must be shagging stendels wife and stendel shagging bahres at minute. Manager ****** up at two pm yesterday soon as he shoved drawing pin in team sheet. Hedges a disgrace. Potts miles better when he's central. Give ben williams a run at left back like we did bree and holgate at rb. Note to stendel moore will not score goals on half way line or left touchline only against Brentford. Day to forget and three changes needed tuesday.
Agree with that. Some people talking as if Donny camped in our half, but it was really an open game and they looked to have more quality on the day. Counted for little when alls said and done. We're still third, they're still not.
Predictable ratings from the Nut some accurate some not, all in the eye of the beholder, colourful unnecessary use of the English language
I honestly believe that Davies is the best keeper in this league and find the stick he gets from a vocal few quite staggering.
Some of you’re ratings I can’t get my head around. I know the game is all about opinions but you give Davies a 9 for what.a save having said that a good save. But yet again is commanding of is box is woeful he will not come off is line especially for corners & is kicking is poor. & has for Lindsay you said bang average really. I must have been at a different game. All about opinions it’s a funny old game...
He made far more than that one save. Lindsay didn’t have a good game, hence the reason I gave him the score I did.
Faultless review imho. The manager, and the entire matchday squad save for Woodrow, Moncur, Davies & Pinnock might as well have stopped at home on Saturday. Never seen so many players have a mare in one team at the same time.
Lindsay had a brilliant game. 2 brilliant slide tackles that stopped Donny players having one on ones & several difficult clearances from balls hit across the area
Just how I saw it. Then again, I know fek all about the finer points of the game. Moore, may score goals but has a low conversion rate given the number of times he is in a goalscoring position (free headers etc) and based on what we saw a couple of games ago has real pace. He often has an awful first touch and his head-ons often go nowhere. I am reminded of a certain Ashley Ward who used to receive the ball back to goal, hold off the defender and lay an intelligent well weighted pass ito an onrushing colleague or turn the defender and run at goal. Moore is OK at this level but, for me, not Championship quality. Had a few weak games of late. Agree about Potts. Midfield seemed to be outfought.
For those that are interested, here is the xG chart for the game. https://experimental361.files.wordpress.com/2018/11/2018-11-24-barnsley-doncaster.png
I wasn't at the game due to work. I watched the full game yesterday and voted Davies, as his save was outstanding. Pinnock, I identified as the best defender last season, and could be MOTM every week.
