The gift that keeps on giving! The fa has stepped in to pay the players wages for christmas in what the chairman has described as "cash flow problems". Thank god for financial fair play eh!!!
Sent us down and could yet stay up again while we languish in league one. Financial fair play is a joke.
The 5 million they got for Madine soon went. Should have more cash coming soon from compensation if as expected Reading want their legend Phil Parkinson as their new manager.
I often wonder what would have happened if Patrick Cryne hadn't adhered to FFP two years early and had backed Mark Robins instead of sticking him on gardening leave and appointing Keith Hill.
So clubs can cheat as much as they like but nothing can be done because their fans might suffer. Barnsley fans are suffering because of relegation last season, something that wouldn't have happened if Bolton hadn't cheated.
This is one of the many reasons I have fallen out of love with football. For 40 years I've watched the reds, but this season I didn't renew my season ticket for the 1st time in 20 years. I have only been once this season and the buzz had gone, didn't get the same excitement as I used to and that's mainly down to how the game is run from top to bottom. The Premier league is pretty much a closed unit with the odd new team breaking through then you have the serial yoyo clubs. The farce of handing out 100m to the team that finishes bottom of the league then giving them a further circa 100m in parachute payments over 3 years is a joke. It's going to take a big club to go under before anything is done about it but then again the fa are weak as piss and pander to the Premier league so nothing will change.
Seems to me that we as a club should put forward an injunction to stop it in its tracks. If this is not possible the club needs to register its objections to the FA in the strongest possible terms
We also had QPR....and the obscene amount of debt they have racked up.......and now allowed to pay it back over a number of years.....unbelevable!!
They weren't suffering when they were finishing in the top half of the Premier League, playing in Europe and getting to a cup final on the largesse of their unearned £170million from Eddie Davies. If they end up suffering now then that's just the way it is. Besides: I fvcking hate them.
It could be argued Pompey went under, albeit slowly and not a thing was done, they’d been in the club a few years earlier and none of the so called boys of the premier league itself gave a flying ****. They all turned their collective back, shrugged their shoulders and carried on regardless
https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/spo...ry-crisis-after-hitch-with-pfa-bail-out-loan/ Crunch day on Friday. The article mentions players and coaching staff, but no-one else. So do we assume that backroom staff are still being paid or are they just not newsworthy?
