Cracking player, and think he’ll continue to improve as he plays regular football for a season or two. I’m hopeful we can add a couple more players of the calibre of Woodrow and Dougall in January. Might be dependent on shifting a few out - transfer/loan or “mutual”.
Yes, many thants to Tom for forcing through his move to the unmentionables. Appreciated his work rate but l was never as cut up about it as so many were. I posted a few weeks back about the quality of our recent signings ie Woodrow and Dougall and was slapped down a bit for my pains Still think these two will walk it the in championship. I’m just hoping we can make another one or possibly two signings of the same standard in January
I wouldn’t be surprised if Fulham try to manipulate the system to try to keep hold of him. They must be regretting agreeing to sell him to us, especially for “only” a million
I heard the figure was under half that even including add ons. Either way a bargain on current showing.
Best bit of business done in years, Bradshaw wanted to go, we got good money for him, he would have been decent in league 1 but no higher, Woodrow is quality and will play at a much bigger club than us in the future with us getting a big wedge for him. It was unfortunate that he got injured otherwise we wouldn't have given Bradshaw a second thought and he would be on 15 goals now with us higher up the table. Millwall in January having to pay over a million pound for someone who is not good enough to play in the championship, they have signed though a nice bloke who runs around a lot, is a grafter, puts a shift in. We in turn have signed a quality striker who will have no problem stepping up, is young, a nice bloke, a grafter, puts a shift in and scores all types of goals.
Sublime player. One of the best strikers we've had in a long time. He's one of several players who could comfortably make the move up to the Championship, if we can push on and get promotion.
Glad Cauley is getting the plaudits he deserves. Was highly rated in a very good Fulham Academy side who I saw quite a few times at their Motspur Park training ground but just never made the final step up while they were in the Premier League. Definitely a Championship player when fully fit and hopefully he may be there with us next season
Funnily enough I saw quite a few Brentford youth games where I thought a certain Alfie Mawson would make a decent lower league player. It's a small world is football
In our last promotion side from this division, if he was part of it at the level he's playing at, Fletcher would be on the bench as he'd be starting alongside Winnall.
Agreed. He offers a lot more than Fletcher. His touch is as good, but his movement & work rate is way better.
