If we play like we did against Charlton in the first half - and maintain that level throughout the game - then we have nothing to fear. Especially if we start to convert dominance into goals scored.
As much as I respect Lutons form and unbeaten home record, I think we are well capable of going there and winning.
I think next week is probably the toughest match we’ll have in the league this year. Luton play with pace and attack in waves. Like a better version of Charlton when we played there. Going to have to be bang on it for 90 minutes to get anything at all. It’s not the end of the world if we don’t win, but if we did then we would really be amongst it and would fancy our chances of carrying it on.
Without a doubt . We gonna have to be on it from start to finish and keep Possession and not needlessly give ball to them because they’ll be up for it especially after their reactions to our win at the Well. But we can beat any team in this league home or away when we on it and concentrate for ninety mins if we turn up
I'm sure they'll be saying the same about us. We play nice football, have lots of shots and possession.
I'd take a draw now as they have 3 games against promotion rivals coming up anyway so hopefully they will drop a few points. Can't say I was too impressed with them when we met at home. We beat them without dougall, davies and moore or woodrow we also had pinnilos and fryers out and had to play Williams at full back. Be a diffrent game at their place though.
Peterborough away was going to be a hard game, but we loved them half to death and then comfortably beat them at home. Should have beaten Pompey, gave a good account of ourselves with the ball at Sunderland - best team I've seen. If we turn up and are on top of our game, we won't lose.
The key for me is really having a go at them. If we sit back and try to contain them then, as an earlier poster mentioned, they are going to come at us in wave after wave and I can’t see us holding out for 90 mins. However, in those away games where we’ve really gone after the opposition (Rochdale and Peterbrough being the best examples where they were lucky to get nil!) then we really can hurt teams with slick passing and fast counter attacking. Let them worry about us, but to do that we really after go after them. C....O.....Y.....R......
If we play as well as we can we will win. Anything less than our best and we won’t. I’d say we are a better team but need to get the tactics and performance spot on as Luton are a well managed skilful side with dangerous attacking players.
We know we have the capability and the application. Both teams confidence is high. We can score and defend and are ok away from home. For me we need every single player to be on it, deliver on the application. For me it’s more about each and every players application, effort and focus more so than tactics and gameplan. Wasteful in front of goal, sloppy with the ball and drop in concentration will be a definite loss. The opposite and we can take 3 points.
Same I can only see 3-0 to us. Might be arrogant but if we want to be promoted we shouldn't be worried about any game. Folks are talking like we are playing Real Madrid.
I don’t think they are bigging them up out of proportion , just stating they where they are on merit and emphasising the result will depend on whether we turn up Peterborough away style or Wycombe it’s fair comments to make imo
