For the first time in 24 years I'm going in Tarn on New Years Eve. I'm not bothered but my Mrs wants to. Is it any good? Does it get too packed? I'd rather stop in one boozer to be honest.
Probably be quite dead as it's overated and not worth double time in a taxi, paying to get in places that are usually free and queuing much longer at a bar. Better off popping to Sheffield.
Mmmmmm double fair from Sheffield. Ya a think Al go there NNOOOTTTT.It will probably be dead "queuing longer for a drink" .
Not Barnsley, but about a decade ago we went into Wakey on new years eve. Went to Bollywood lounge for a meal and then headed up Westgate for a drink. Couldn't believe how dead it was, and realised how much the arse had gone out of big nights out in town since I was in my teens and 20s when it would have been heaving.
Get Yersens darn to Keel Inn at Stairfoot, (assuming you live in Kendray) short walk, Typical local pub. I haven’t been in Tarn on New Year’s Eve for more years than I care to remember, always preferred to go local. Having said that we used to have much more choice of venues to chose from. Starting at Ardsley House, Pheasont ( gone) Oaks Club or Dirty Dicks, then to the Coach and Horses and Blackbull ( gone) Ardsley WMC ( low club) gone as is Cross Keys. Jeez the number of boozers gone in that short distance of about half a mile.
I would imagine it's the same as everywhere else...crap, the greed of charging to get in has totally spoilt what was the best night of the year
I live in Honeywell now this is us first Christmas & New Year up here. We have always gone in Central WMC as that was my local but Mrs wants a change. Everything everybody has said is what I think.
Apparrently Europe’s top Take That tribute band at East Dene Club. No fee or ticket required, just turn up. Not for me but I suppose it will appeal to some.
Thats where we have decided to go. Same here not keen in Take That but some if wifes family go in and its a decent pint.
