They are very Wednesday aren't they? One of them has even included a pre season friendly at Berwick Rangers! I can't remember them ever outnumbering us at Oakwell. We did once give them the north stand and part of the west, but that's what? 7500? I would love it if Blackpool turned them over on NYD.
The most they'd ever have had at Oakwell in the modern era would be 7,500-8,000, in 98/99 (total crowd 17,390) and 06/07 (total crowd 18,207). So in other words, they're chatting ********.
I seem to recall we gave them the full West Stand and kop end when they were promoted under Peter Reid. I think they did outnumber us that day.
I don't think anyone has ever had the whole west stand mate. Only up to the tunnel. Sunderland, wolves, Leeds and Wednesday come to mind, but as Jamo posted that's 7500 - 8000 tops.
I can't ever remember anyone having all the west stand. We have season ticket holders in there, and directors.
They did indeed have all the West stand and the old Kop, in the ‘Cheer up Peter Reid’ era. Unsure of the attendance that day but it was the old seated Kop with about 2000 capacity. I would guess they made up about 35% to 40% of the crowd and doubt they outnumbered home fans that day.
Why haven't we got one of you on there putting them right? I'd have been in my element a few years ago.
Attendance shows as 13,189 that day. From memory I think Sunderland had close to 7,000. Glad I'm not the only one who recalls this.
Not sure how many the West Stand held, but I do remember though there wasn’t that many in the Ponty end side of the West Stand.
