Going to take kids for a walk on Friday, how far round is it and how long does it take? Is there any bridges to reduce the length of the walk? Any pubs near by for lunch to try?

    Thanks

Its a nice walk but be aware that there is no mobile phone reception . I told my wife to wait in the main car park until I called her for pick up details , upon reaching the pub at the other end I tried calling her to meet me for lunch . I ended up having to walk the 3 miles back to the car park .
Damflask reservoir is a bit closer and also a nice walk with a nice pub in High Bradfield .

Thanks for that, littlest one is 4 so 6 mile might be too much for her.....just fancy a stroll as it’s approaching the end of the holiday period

As an alternative, Fairburn Ings near Cas is a shorter walk and has a few bits and bobs to do for kids too. My fave local place to walk at present.

Love Ladybower but might be a bit far for younger kids. My 7 year old wouldn't like it!

Pugneys in Wakefield is a nice walk and there’s the swan and cygnet pub for a meal and drink. There’s also a cafe on site a children’s play area etc .

It’s actually a nice walk round there too, there’s some cracking places on doorstep when you think about it

I'm a five minute walk from Worsbrough res but hardly ever go there . Me and my daughter used to walk round it when she was a nipper then call into Wigfield Farm to look at the 'smelly pig's ' and have some snap .
