like I've said before I dont rate him, big deal. He'd been here for 3 seasons when I posted that Like I said I dont hurl abuse at the bloke from the stands - its an opinion, which I stand by. At no point have I said I hated the bloke!! Just an overview of his abilities. If you could point out where I have said I hate the man I would be grateful...Your post proves absolutely nothing, so you can hang your mac up Columbo The 3 out of 10 suggests what I said previously
Is this the same person who said all Millwall fans were Horrible, arrogant cross dressers?!! Like I've said we all have opinions on things and clearly we disagree on this one, in the grand scheme of things does it matter? Why things have to get personal when someone voices an alternative opinion I will never know but for that reason I will stick to reading it - which in fairness is something you'll probably be glad of. I've gt an ex wife that I have reserved most of my hatred for over the years
No one's been personal towards you as far as I can see. Not only Millwall fans, but Wednesday, leeds and donny. All raving trannies - not that that has any relevance to your view of our own players. Ps. My reference to Millwall fans being cross dressers was a play on words. It was in reply this https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?ur...hare_pid=2206889&share_fid=60198&share_type=t Wouldn't wish this on the bloke - but reading the Millwall forum - what a horrible, arrogant cross section of their fans - unlucky... Merely a play on words. It's called humour.
I mean, last season apart, where don’t get me wrong he was pretty poor but still wasn’t the fumbling, blubbing mess that some made out, he’s performed consistently well since he signed for us because since then; he’s conceded on average only 1 goal a game in League One managing a 40% clean sheet record. In his first ever season in the Championship he made more saves than any other keeper in the league, keeping 14 clean sheets in 46 league games and had the 2nd highest shot to save rate of anyone in the league. We all know that in some games last season he cost us points; (QPR at home, Fulham at home, etc) and that he’s not vocal enough with his defence and some of his kicks are absolute garbage, but after signing for £0 having never played a game we’ve got a promotion, a Trophy, our highest league finish in something like 15 years and nearly 200 games out of him I reckon some people should really consider if there many better options in our price range. Is he the best keeper we’ve ever had: No Will he ever play in the Prem: No Is every aspect of his game good: No Shockingly that’s why he’s playing for League One Barnsley and sat on the Wales bench instead of starting and playing in the Prem.
Steady on people. Think there's a happy medium here somewhere. Possibly something like: Davies is a solid keeper for L1, but we should have an eye on his development, cos if we go up he still might not be ready to do it in the Championship even though he's been there before. Also, he's not a great captain. Is the issue our GK coaching staff? Who is it currently?
I like Davies. I think he's done a good job for us over a fair few seasons now. Fair enough he wasn't great last season but he was the most visible target in a team that struggled. That said it's fair enough not to rate him as much as I do. Everyone has a right to their opinion. But three out of ten. THREE! Come on!
The point I was making is that with our budget and relative pulling power is there any better keepers people know of that we could attract, I don’t by any stretch of the imagination think Davies would be the answer if the new owners were to attempt to take the club into the Championship but I’d say he’s a pretty good asset to the team certainly not ****, terrible or a waste of space as some people describe him. As for the Goalkeeping coach I think it’s still John Vaughan who came in with LJ because he worked for his dad but I couldn’t tell you how good he is
Anyone who scores him that clearly has zero knowledge about football and an agenda do not worse engaging with.
In fairness though when it comes to Davies you're hardly impartial either. I'd rate him at a 6 or 7. Probably a 7 to be honest but I think he jeddsto be pushed for his place
Davies does polarise opinions more than any other current player. I've seen more ****-ups from him than wonder saves but I guess over a season they may well cancel each other out. I wouldn't say any opposition goalkeeper has looked any better or any worse than him but most seem to be a bit more dominant in the 6 yard box. Of the Barnsley goalkeepers I've seen, I'd rate him behind Steele, Muller, Butland, Turnbull, Watson, Leese, Baker, Butler, Pierce, Springett but ahead of Townsend, Pollitt, Preece,, Mannone, Horne and going back further Roy Ironside, . In other words, and in my opinion alone, he's about average for our club.
