Much prefer this - makes the ground more symmetrical and much less hotch potch. Two words you don’t see on here that often.

The restaurant and bar are in the East stand.
It’s called Redfearns bar, after the player not the glassworks. And is in the Legends Suite.

That wall and topping must surely have Grade 3 listed status by now.
Anyway, it's health and safety... stops folk climbing out at half-time!

On a personal and completely selfish point of view having watched bfc for the first time in 67 in the WSU .
And having had a season ticket in the WSU for 22 years in a warm comfortable environment where the elements rarely
    intrude .
Where is my F*****g seat .
As an aside I look out from my warm comfortably clement seat in the WSU at the other three sides of the ground
and I could be in anywhere , it looks souless .
But hey ho that's me .
    Happy New Year everybody .

Personally, I find it disappointing that the club haven't responded to your document. It's obvious significant effort had gone into it. A simple thank you for your effort would not have taken much time to do.

Matt - can you do the same with both corners of the West and put the same corner stand we have now in between the North and East and re-post it?

    Maybe.

Fact is, the football club still don’t own Oakwell and it’s all gone quiet on this front.

I have to presume all the current expenditure on the ground is from the tenant and not the landlord?

same view as i've always had on this. i just don't see the value in rebuilding the west stand until we're either hitting capacity week in week out, or it's physically unsafe. i can't imagine for one second that we fail to attract players or investors, because of how the west stand looks. better things to spend the money on, for me.

    Hi
Redfearns bar is a youth club behind the ponty end that is converted into a pop up bar for a couple of hours on matchdays by volunteers. The other links you provided were for a (fairly low class) function room in the exec areas.

I don't think there is a bar or restsrestaat oakwell in general

    Is it still council owned?

The pop up bar is the big oak thing onthe left that is a fully stocked bar. It doesn’t pop anywhere...

There is restaurant and room hire facilities, but no I agree it is not a fully functioning restaurant. But if the club wanted to, it could start a Restaurant in there. Not as big as the Metrodome, but very much a usable function room/restaurant. I have attended a couple of functions at The Legends Suite. Sorry it’s not the Ritz, but not sure what class you expect at a football club. This facility is in line with others I’ve seen at sheff Utd and Rotherham.

A couple of factors here some that have been touched on.

1, unless the opponent bring a massive following, we don't get very close to hitting the slimmed down capacity of our ground.
2, our owners have been very quiet about their planned effort to acquire the Cryne owned vehicle that owns part of the ground which they had an option to acquire in the first 6 months. And no comment has been made re the council part.
3, the ground is fairly close to the town centre but its in a location that has to be the destination rather than a casual walk by
4, the town isn't affluent with cheap and cheerful often taking precedence over quality and experience.

Until the ground ownership issue is better defined, I can't see anything of note being done to the ground. And until we're operating at a higher level, the cost benefit of building any new structure, whether big or small is around the spectrum of nil. To build something big is folly at this time and anything small could limit future progress (if we ever find out this is what the owners want).

Fair play to the OP for spending time on something, but I doubt such a scheme would be on the radar even if the 4 points above weren't limiting such a proposal.

and its obvious from the no response that a new west stand is simply not on the cards.

Rhetorically speaking. Would you do up a property that wasn't your own? I know I wouldn't. Until the club own the ground again nowt will happen.

And rightfully so. I don’t want BMBC having to part fund it as they are still a joint owner.

We’ve spent loads on it recently - so it’ll be there for another 10 years at least. And even then, we’ll need Chien Lee to be the owner of the ground and also have higher attendance figures to justify it.

Nice plans though and some work put into it.

But you said Redfearn's was in the Legends Suite, in the East Stand, which it most definitely isn't.

Then maybe I’d had too many sherbets to remember properly. I’m sure that bar has a plaque above it saying redfearns bar...

I’m not in favour of rebuilding the old school though...

The board should buy the land though....
