They looked after themselves I grant you but so did Liverpool and Chelsea. Leeds played some sublime football at times. Watch the Leeeds 5 Man U 1, Leeds 7 Southampton 0 and Eddie Grays 2 goals in Leeds 2 Burnley 0. They'll be on YouTube. You'll be hard pressed to find a better pair of goals in one match than Grays double. Probably the best goal I've ever seen.

I wonder if Nudger is speaking from experience of supporting other teams?

Hit the nail on the head there.

Cant understand people on here posting we need to understand we are just a small club we develop players and move them on.

Are we to just do this forever? When does that stop?

Am I destined to watch great football upto the new year every year then watch ‘bigger’ teams come in and take apart the spine of our team?

Actually, my Dad was a Leeds supporter in the 60s/70s, and used to take me from time to time as a nipper.

When Clarkey moved to Oakwell I pestered Dad to take me & we went down first game of season. I was 8 at the time and I’ve never supported anyone else since

No, neither have I. But I've heard it a lot from Barnsley fans as a reason to stop going.

There's no end of folk saying "same old Barnsley, selling their best players". You're right.
They're all on here and they're Barnsley fans.

I agree there is a preconceived notion about Barnsley Football Club lacking ambition. That's been going round years. I think people will support Sheff Wed, Leeds United, Sheff Utd for a number of reasons mentioned above.

However, I don't think anyone chooses not to support Barnsley F.C due to a lack of ambition. When I attended my first match with my dad back in 94/95 I was staunch Arsenal. After that match I kept an eye on Barnsley's results and eventually became a supporter.

I still look for Arsenal's results but if they were playing Barnsley. I'd want Barnsley to win every time. You go where it feels right and it's down to the individual if truth be known.
