I think there is a lot of good will between our clubs since we beat them 2 0 to be promoted. Some stayed behind to applaud our players, and it was said that some of our fans went along to support them in their bid to avoid relegation. I don't think there is any animosity between us. In fact, it's pretty safe to go anywhere these days in my experience.
I think the reduction of capacity is more to with the RH corner next to the East Stand, and the front 3 rows which is to allow for crown surge. Also lack of experience of crowd control by Stewards - Supertyke mentioned this before after speaking with safety officer. I know the concourse is tight, but no tighter than Bramall Land or Hillsborough. Look at the last capacity crowd we had - 2001 V Man City. We won the game and it was an electric atmosphere that day.
Yes, and also the fact we beat Millwall in the final the other year. Remember the Bradford fans chanting ‘you’re getting fooked by the Barnsley’ after getting missives thrown at them.
So why do you think the club has neglected it? We only fill 50% of capacity at best Sorry aimed at conan
I like Bradford. They don't act as though they're Real Madrid despite having a lot of fans. They're one of the few other clubs I actually wish well. A play-off final against them rather than Miwwo would have been a lot more pleasant, and a lot safer, whatever the outcome of the game.
Yes definitely a lot of good will between the two sets of fans , spoke to loads of Bradford fans on holiday and been very complimentary to our club which I’ve reciprocated of course . I think at the time of the injured horse any fans going to any ground in numbers were trouble for home team. I can remember Halifax Town coming for a cup game as they were in a higher league than us at the time and they brought a few hundred but loads of trouble .
It was a brick, poor horse lost an eye. It was absolute manic that day with a lot of nasty thugs from both sides. Real toe to-toe fist fighting going off. Took my mate to hospital for stitches after he was hit with a brick. Thankfully there’s no animosity between us these days, but it was pretty scary stuff back then.
Bricks were thrown by both sides . Bradford fans were digging them up from the banking at the kop end which is what the kop end was mostly in those days from pit spoil heaps . They were throwing them at our fans in the brewery stand . Outside the Barnsley fans waited where the newly worksite for the harborough hills fly over on pontefract road . When Bradford fans entered Pontefract road under police escort the sky went black with rubble thrown from foundations and that’s when horse was hit . The poor thing had to work till trains had gone can remember it coming into old bus station and was still being ridden.
The Concorse can’t be any worse than the top tier at villa park (anyone who sat up there will know what I mean) if that is deemed safe then I think ours is fine.
Here's me saying how Bradford are a jolly nice lot, and then I read their forum. It seems no football forum is complete without derogatory remarks about other towns or football grounds. It's not my cup of tea all that stuff. . . . . . . . but have you seen state of their away end? . . It's like a double decker bus!
First two allocations were for 2,100, third batch on sale and whoever wrote the article doesn't know the match is this weekend..... https://www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/news/2019/january/barnsley-v-city-third-allocation-on-sale-now/
