    Hope they'll pick out the old guy who sits a few rows below my and gobs all over the staircase every game - when the wind's in the wrong direction he whiffs a bit.....

    But they will still permit illegal smoking behind the West Stand obviously.

    I’ve seen stewards and club employees smoking behind the west stand. So no chance of that changing any time soon.

    Me too and I have a very good contact who has confirmed that the minute you are through the turnstiles you are not meant to smoke.

    It may not be illegal like running on the pitch is illegal but it is against the EFL rules

    It should still be stopped IMO.

    It’s not something I want to experience when going to the toilet.

    It’s especially ridiculous when stewards in uniform and club employees are smoking.

    It is illegal in the bogs, maybe it wasn’t in the West stand ones until they put a roof on, but once they did that the law kicked in

    I assume we have some kind of legally binding contract with the EFL in order to be part of it and their rules say no smoking inside the ground. The club's own website says exactly that. My very good source says it should not happen.

    Some people are just splitting hairs. There is no governmental law that’s bans smoking in outside areas behind the stands at a football ground. The EFL rules and Barnsley FC ground regulations prohibit it. So it shouldn’t happen and it does.
