The guys who I said something to were about row Y or Z. Don’t know if I can post specific seats like.
You shouldn’t have to! We have stewards to maintain order! Sadly, racism is coming again to the fore in our society- Stephen Yardley-Lennon (aka as Tommy Robinson, to give him his thug-style pretend name) will be very proud of these idiots! We learn nothing from history! And yet, the 4 appalling Chelsea fans are rightly castigated, whilst our very own idiots continue- get different fans to video the nutters & get them out of our club!
Christ! If they had their way and we only signed white English players we’d be in National League Division 2!
The club have loads of cameras around the ground, getting different angles of the match experience. How about they use one to keep an eye on the problem parts of the ground and work towards clamping down on it ?
I reported a fan for racism once... they sat an undercover steward near him. Needless to say he didn't do anything ... good to know club did react to my concerns.
Phoned the club and they put me onto the then chief exec at the time ... can't remember who it was. Worth trying giving them a ring ... you may not get GG but somebody should be able to do something
I worked for the Club some years ago and whilst I was sat with my young grandson at a game, the bloke behind was shouting the most foul mouthed abuse to all and sundry. I asked him to stop because of the presence of young children and got the normal moronic response of "what tha' goin to do abarht it". On Monday morning after discussing to issue with Don Rowing I got the bloke's name and phone number from the ticket office and gave him a call. After he confirmed that he had been in his allocated seat on the previous Saturday, I said the Club had received a complaint because of his profane and abusive language, including the 'F' & 'C' words. His reply was that whoever had made the report was a liar. When I told him the complainant was myself and that the club was considering taking his season ticket away he became less aggressive and apologised profusely. At the next home match he repeated his apologies and promised he would never swear again whilst in the ground, and to be fair he never swore for the rest of the season. That said he did move his seat for the following season so I'm not aware if he still remains a changed man or has reverted back to his old ways. My reason for relating this salutary tale is that genuine fans should report any anti-social behaviour and I would recommend your phone call is backed by a letter or email that requests (politely) what action the Club has taken. BFC is duty bound to address the issue. I would also urge all fans at some stage to read the "Ground Regulations" which are posted on all the concourses at Oakwell and those sections that relate to fans behaviour.
Should have banned him tbh. Just my opinion but being abusive, then threatening, then accusing the complainant of being a liar is just too much to just accept a clearly false apology that was only given as a last resort when he knew that he couldn't get out of it. As I say it's only my opinion
Every Saint has a past and every sinner a future. You may think I'm soft but I sincerely believe everyone deserves a second chance.
Why not? He worked for the club. That’s one of the reasons seat numbers and contact details are aligned - to deal with any complaints, trouble or health scares.
O Only thing I can see that's wrong is that he was the one that made the call, as it could be classed as a conflict of interests. To be fair, the complaint should have been passed to a collegue to handle to ensure impartiallity.
1. He’s the one making the complaint ergo is not impartial 2. He has not stated in what capacity he worked for the club or even employed at the club at the time of the incident. It is highly likely he wasnt senior management therefore could be a turnstile operator or a match day steward. Would you be happy with your personal details being passed to one of Doyle’s finest as an example? 3. What logic went through Rowings brain to pass those details to a third party angry or not. There’s alsorts of potential issues under DPA guidelines. That kind of information will have restricted access to a minimum number of people in and around the ticket office and the management team and will be covered by guidelines in how it was to be used. Eg in case of an emergency 4. I work for the club. I’ve noticed Jamdrop looks mighty fine. I’ve got her seat number. Im going to speak to gauthier and get her number and give her a call.
I reported somebody for racist abuse on the kick it out app yesterday, made sure I took note of the seat number he was stood in front of. Hope they get banned but not holding my breath.
This is the way to go about reporting it now days. I had some bother few seasons back with some backwards lovely people sat near me was told to use this app.
