Since match is available to watch live tomorrow, I’d like to be able to send it to my TV rather than watching in the office on my iMac.

I’ve got Chrome on my Mac but it won’t find the TV when using iFollow. It does when I watch YouTube etc.

    Any ideas?

Cast entire tab in Chrome browser. Ifollow doesn't support Chromecast within the player itself.

I just plug laptop in via HDMI.

Other option is to use browser on the tv. And simply log in on that

I tried loads of ways to get around it on boxing day - the only thing I could find that worked was an hdmi cable.

As an aside, it's ridiculous that they expend all that effort stopping you from casting it when the workaround is so simple. I wasted several hours just because I didn't have the right cable on me. It's a classic case of annoying law abiding customers in order to solve an essentially insoluble problem.

3 dots settings option in browser, top right. Make sure that CC is on and all that. Click 'Cast Entire Tab'. Option'll come up with your TV on it. Click that. Job's a good un.

Can you buy the game as a one off, or is there an underlying subscription?

I think they do it on purpose. As I say, on boxing day casting worked for everything except ifollow, even in a browser. Just use a cable. At least you've got a bit of notice to find one!

I’d need a cable longer than dirk diggler’s schlong as my iMac is in the next room.

Trying to borrow a laptop that has a HDMI port. Right ballache innit.

Only gripe is that you’d expect, once the football league have gone down this route, they’d want the customer to have the best possible viewing experience and allow them to send it to a TV rather than watching on a mobile device or a computer screen.

Presumably they (the FL that is) think folk will stop at home and not go to game, which is fair enough, but sometimes it’d come in bang handy when you genuinely can’t get.

Yep! Like I said, they spend thousands making it difficult for people to pay them legally and watch it, whilst leaving massive loopholes for everybody else. You'd think they'd have learned from the fact that this has never worked for any other media. We have Spotify and Netflix for most of our entertainment, but ifollow are still living in an era where they have to combat limewire and kazaa.

If viewing in Google Chrome, select the options menu, and click cast. Not sure if they're preventing people from doing this, but should be the easiest way otherwise.

Can't you install the app on the TV if it's android?
