“They are excited for the end of the season and will do everything in their power to make sure this team goes back to the Championship. Then it’s a crazy league, anything is possible. ANYTHING
After not selling any of our first team stars on Deadline Day some posters are all revved up with nowhere to go
Been very busy over the last few days, so it was not until today that I had chance to read my copy of Friday's Chronicle. I saw several postings on the BBS regarding offers being made for some of our players on the run up to the window closing but I didn't see any concrete reference as to the value of any bids. In the Chronicle before he left for Nice ,GG states that we turned an £800,000 offer for Cavare down from Bordeaux. There was also interest in Ethan Pinnock with a deal to bring in a replacement if the transfer went through. We resisted an approach from the "large dwarf" at Bristol City for Keiffer and there was also interest from Championship Clubs to lure Liam Lindsay away. He closed by saying " there have been bids for some of them, big bids for some, but the owners want to keep this squad together and get promoted." As for his future I was chuffed to read Daniels comment following the departure of Andreas Winkler viz: "Christopher ( Stern) and I will stay here and work hard for Barnsley." He's slowly but surely enhancing his reputation as a quality Coach who appears to have enthused our players and in my mind, could go down as one of the best Coaches we've had in many years.
