Hi mate, welcome to the forum, interesting where some fans live!
What do you like about Georgia?
What's some of the differences compared to living in Reds country?

NIce one! The missus and I have been wanting to go to Tblisi for ages, but the flights from St Petersburg have been really expensive in the past. My in-laws went last year and absolutely loved it. Some of the spices they brought back were incredible. I hope you're a fan of khachapuri, lobyo and khinkali?!

    Hi MT
Yes it’s a great city. And of course my expanding waistline does reflect my love of the local cuisine. Defo worth a visit. We would love to visit Russia, but not easy to get a visa here as there is no Russian embassy in Georgia. You don’t need a visa to come here though.

Yes, it’s a bit different from the Dearne Valley. I haven’t lived in UK for 20 years now after spells in Germany, Nepal and now Georgia.
Tbilisi is a bit like the Eastern European cities like Prague were 15-20 years ago, just with better WiFi. It is still cheap - we find eating out, beer and shopping cheaper than it was in Kathmandu. Quality higher too. Wine is fantastic and very cheap.
Lots of hipster type folk here with beards, taches, being popular (particularly on the men...), the women are very attractive if a little stern looking at times (though some people would pay extra for that).
Lots to do if you visit too.

Yes, Russia does have a tendency to fall out with every country within a 12000 mile radius, which of course has a knock on effect on getting a visa. I presume you'd have to nip to Azerbaijan or Armenia to do it.

Georgian food is indeed as calorific as it is delicious. We've got a Georgian on every corner here, as you'd expect.

Have you attempted to learn any of the lingo? Apparently it's so complex that it makes Russian look relatively straightforward! The alphabet is absolutely insane! Beautiful, but very hard to fathom.

I know about 5 words after living here 18 months - shocking I know, but I lived in Nepal for 13 years and only know about 10 words of Nepali, so actually my Georgian is coming along quite well.
