You must visit The Blues Bar.
It is a tiny little pub that still somehow manages to fit a stage in and always has live bands/artists on.
Even famous names have been known to turn up and perform warm up gigs pre-tour.
And as someone else mentioned, 'The Alex' is bang on and a great place for live football.
Also, their Weatherspoons is about the size of The Metrodome. Huuuuge!!!

Harrogate Red here. Hopefully I can help you out. The best pub in town by far is the Coach and Horses on West Park. They have a large range of guest ales from all over as well as local brewers Daleside and roosters. Added to that, well over 60 gins if the missus fancies that sort of thing and fantastic food. Tell "Dan" the bar manager I recommended them to you.Come out of the side door on Tower Street and you'll you'll see the "tap" which is a real ale pub and the Harrogate Tap at the railway station.

If you are going to Wetherspoons be prepared to wait 20 minutes to get served but near there, Hales bar near the valley gardens is good, as is the Last Post on Cold Bath Road.

    Enjoy your day.

All the ones quoted above are no more than a few minutes walk away from Kings Road, although that road does run for nearly a mile from the bottom of Parliament Street up to the Skipton Road so it depends where you are staying. If you are towards the Skipton Road end there is the Bilton Working Mens Club just across the road from that T junction. You will probably find that the West Park pub is the furthest away but that's the best location, right next to The Stray. Harrogate is a fairly small town and easily walkable.

Parking is expensive if you do need to park right in the centre and they have just introduced this new "Appy Parking" system with studs on the road surface, in the parking bays, monitoring how long you stay there for. I live on the edge of the town centre so have no need to try it out but it could be a good system. Saves you paying for an hour or two and losing money because you leave the slot early.

PS - I have no recommendations to offer for any of these watering holes because I don't use any of them! Restaurants are everywhere - literally dozens of them in the town and all probably decent. Enjoy your visit and lets hope we're both heading back up the A1 with another three points in the bag.
