What do we reckon? Was it a penalty or did he dive? Stendel and McCall seemed to think it was a penalty. What I wasn’t impressed with was how he stayed down for minutes in our box feigning injury and while we were celebrating our first goal he got up and marched over to the linesman to give him a bollocking. Oh and then chased the ref around as well. Not very sportsmanlike that Adam tut tut
On the one viewing I had it looked like contact was made but in the act of clearing the ball more on the follow through. Would have been harsh I think, but a replay may prove me wrong. Forget sportsmanship if I were his manager I'd be furious with him. Staying down that long while your side defend with out then concede.
I thought it was a pen. Would have been disappointed if we didn't get the decision. Guess it makes up for a few joke decisions we got against us earlier on in the season.
That’s how I saw it but there was definitely contact so wouldn’t have been surprised if the ref had given it
At the time, I thought it was a penalty. I will have to see it again to fully judge. Either way, I’m not sure what Pinnock was doing. He made up for it the rest of the game though.
Whether he was caught or not he made such a meal of it that it made it hard for the ref to give a penalty.
When it happened I thought it was a pen but it wasn’t intentional by Pinnock just dallied on the ball too long, rare mistake from him but he made up for it in the rest of the game as per
I thought the ball had already gone, so bringing Hammill down or letting him through would have made no difference.
I thought pen at first, then thinking about it, it was our clearance that Hammill tried to jump in front of... Would've been harsh I think. But other way round I'd be here saying how we were denied a blatent penalty. But him staying down to try and get the ref to stop play while we were breaking away only to get straight up when we scored was sad to see.
There is a flip side to this in which the ref knows about Adams history with us and thinks he may try to play on that. Not seen the incident so not saying either way, but just trying to put an arguement accross.
I thought it was a penalty in truth. A soft one but with roles reversed, I'd have wanted one at the other end. At the risk of sounding like Statto, I can remember us conceding one in a similar way, with the defender swinging at the ball and the striker arriving his blind side, away at Preston on Boxing Day 2014.
Looked a penalty to me, but he’d gone down easily twice before that and perhaps that was a factor of it not being given.
Never a penalty. Was right in front of us. Caught on follow through - unfortunate but completely accidental and out of either player’s control. Ref absolutely spot on.
Never a pen. As others have mentioned, pinnock caught him after clearing the ball. Love Hammill but today showed why we didn't keep him on.
