Heartiest congratulations to Jacob, who has shown real progress so far and congrats to Daniel and his fellow coaches , for persevering with him and giving him his chance at cementing his place in the team. Looking at the stats, to be honest, I can't see past Collins of Luton winning, but that would take nothing away from Jacobs nomination which is well deserved.
Really looking forward to see how Jacob progresses under Daniel think we’ve got a top prospect on our hands. Didn’t realise he’d 5 assists in Jan what a top effort to say he’d not been involved too much previously.
I’ll put hands up & be honest I never thought he’d make it, just saw him as a grafter with not enough quality. Proving me wrong & I hope he continues to
Him and Mowatt have been head and shoulders above this last month, great to see them both getting recognition
Delighted for him. He seems such a good lad and clearly bought into the coaching staffs ideas, knuckled down and think he's streets ahead of Potts already. He's been involved in everything and showed such real signs of quality. Just watched back the game from the weekend and some of the touches from most of the players to open up space, find a pass and to change direction... seriously impressive. Mowatt the standout obviously, but McGeehan, Thiam, Brown, Pinillos even Lindsay and Pinnock all looking more composed and comfortable on the ball.
Jacob’s emergence has gone along way to offset the loss of Brad Potts We’ve had a few good defenders come through the academy but Browny looks to be the best midfield/forward prospect ever to come via that route
Brad Potts was a tough act for young Jacob to follow. Brad made a huge contribution to the first half of our season, with his performances, goals and creation of chances for his teammates. However, for me, Browny has been an excellent replacement for him. If anything, his perfomances are getting better & better as his self confidence appears to be growing. Keep up the good work, Jacob.
Totally agree with that. Wasn’t on for long but delivered a fair few balls that were begging to be nodded in.
Well done Jacob & well done the coaching staff & DS in having the foresight to play him as he has this season, developing his all round game & making him a sort of James Milner type player, who can play a bunch of positions. I think the lad will go far.
Agree. I think he's got quality and his eagerness is now being channelled. Which I think much of the squad has. Early season we were frenetic. We're now more controlled and deliberate and the movement is much more noticeable with the ball. I still wish we wouldn't shoot from so far all the time, but hopefully that will come as players learn each others games more and work on specific link up. A massive difference from the team that tanked so badly in last years run in. And Jacob is showing he's a big part of that collective improvement.
Agree about his confidence. The little shimmy he did to score at Peterboro and the fantastic turn to set up Woodrow the other week, we've not had that many forwards with that ability in recent times, and makes it all the sweeter he's come all the way through the ranks.
Just watched the ifollow piece on Browns January performances, if Stendell knew that Brown would step up like this and knew that he would replace Potts then he is a special coach, I didn't. His drive, enthusiasm and talent is clear to see, its an incredible improvement and we could have a fantastic player on our hands if he continues to improve.
Daniel probably knew that he had a raw talent on his hands that could improve, given time and some intensive coaching.
