There was one question that wasn't asked. If all the money generated is to be out back into the club...then what is in it for the owners? If they're so sold on the romance of piloting little old Barnsley to the heady heights then why are they also involved in Nice plus looking for further clubs to buy abroad.
If they're here to make a steady buck I've no problem with that as long as their interests go hand in hand with those of the club.

What is not to like about that interview and the goals/intentions of the owners. Steady, long term growth will hopefully mean any success achieved from the approach will be more solid and consistent rather than a flash in the pan.

Only people that will be disappointed will be the ones that thought we were getting a Abramovic(or is that Chansiri) Mark II.

I for one am vey excited for the future.

Wonder if the club are considering having a ‘presence’ in Tarn. PC mentioned the Glassworks and How Tarn and club go hand in hand. Perhaps a club shop or Sportsbar , Cafe bar and/ or Restaurant.

I went in not so long ago. And they had one of those mini stalls in the walkways. Maybe due to costs in rent of a shop they took this option

The current model got us relegated from the Championship.

A lot to like in that, particularly in regard to conforming to financial fair play rules and sticking to a budget that keeps us in the black.

I heard a lot more about Nice than I cared for and I always know I'm listening to the spin of a salesman when the drop in income of 6 million is referenced but there's no mention of the reduced expenditure on wages written into the contract of every one of our players.

The biggest question still remains. If every single pound is is to be reinvested in the club, then why? Why are they here? If they were Barnsley fans it's perfectly understandable. They're not. Well, they are now. They want us to do well. But there's no previous affiliation with us. They're putting a lot of time and effort into this. Time away from their families and friends. Time away from their day jobs. Time they could be spending watching their own sports teams who they grew up with. And they're doing all this for no financial recompense? However successful they are, we're not going win the Premier league. We're not going to win a major cup We're not going to qualify for Europe. There will be no glory from Barnsley FC. Hopefully, there will be small triumphs that mean a lot to us, people who have supported the club all our lives. Promotion to the Championship, a giant killing in the Cup, maybe at a push, another promotion to the Premier league and even a fight that keeps us up there. But we won't be winners in absolute terms. So what do business men and women get out of making a small club perform a bit better without any hope of success in real terms and no financial reward?

When the new town square is up and running they need to get BFC on the big screens 24/7. If nowt else, it'll give Whitey sommert to do on Thursdays and Fridays :D (I'm assuming he has Mondays off).

Having listened to it I asked the same question to myself. The phrase long term was used a couple of times and I can only assume that perhaps it comes from maybe getting to the PL and then flogging us on??

It was still an encouraging listen and they have certainly put their money where their mouth his at Nice with the training facilities etc.

The one answer that springs to mind is to grow the club show a healthy profit year on year then at some point down the line sell it for a sizeable profit.

Did they say all money earned would be reinvested? Or all money from transfers would be?

Could the plan be to keep matchday revenuer and merchandise sales ore even keep any prize money from promotions or cup runs? Ultimate aim being to pocket a couple of hundred from premiership promotion in a few years?

    Just speculating

Many a true word spoken in jest. There’s some merit in doing something along those lines. I’m well aware there used to be a club shop in the Alhambra centre and of the ‘stall’ that’s in there now. Could it be another source of revenue If the club provided a big public screen for its own purposes and then charged for other advertising?
Imagine the excellent Club YouTube Recap videos on show on a big screen in Tarn. Wow.

Might be a daft point but they could do a lot worse than buying a new one for the ground and having the current one put up in a public place for use as you say

A ‘ big screen’ in Tarn will have a more wider/ varied audience that are not exclusively Reds fans, therefore better advertising revenue prospects and even more exposure, whilst at the same time promoting the club

I'm sure I read that the council are looking at putting screens in the new public square for showing events etc. BFC simply book time on this, a la Times Square.
