Sounds like a precaution as you can't be too careful. You don't want to send him home and he takes a turn for the worse and a ambulance has to be called. Right decision made.
I don’t like that statement at all, sorry to scaremonger but there’s no mention of it been a precaution or just a concussion they’re monitoring. Makes me fear the worst
Anyone know what happens in this situation? Would someone from club have gone in ambulance with Keiffer during the match? Who stays overnight with him being kept in as the coach is on its way back? Just interested as it's an unusual situation. Hope they are just monitoring and making sure he is comfortable. Don't want to think bad thoughts, come on Keiffer
It does make you wonder doesn't it. Surely these prize assets aren't left to the lottery of care that is an NHS ward. I've got visions of him being 'monitored' by half-arsed staff who don't want to be disturbed on a Saturday night.
From serious injuries Gillingham have had in the past, the club doctor would accompany the player in the ambulance and they, or a club official, would often stay with them if kept in.
Would imagine most players have some private healthcare cover, but i think your comment towards the usual NHS staff borders on questioning their profession. Like they value one life over another.
I've spent a lot of time visiting relatives in hospital the last couple of years and I've learnt there's some bloody good nurses and some bloody bad ones who are in the wrong profession. Hence the reference to the standard of care being a lottery.
Bit harsh on NHS staff they did a brillant job with me hope they do same with kieffer wish him all best
Every single nurse I've ever been looked after by is the polar opposite of half arsed. He will be in very good hands.
While losing Moore for any length of time would be a huge blow to the team let's firstly just hope the lads isn't too badly hurt. Health comes first.
I wasn't suggesting for one minute that it was the norm, but it can be the experience if you're unlucky. It's more likely they are under-resourced and over-worked than unprofessional or uncaring. I just wondered whether clubs routinely arrange private care after the initial response and how hands-on they are with it all. I clumsily typed what was going through my head at the time.
