Saw he won’t be playing against Portsmouth as not allowed by regulations. That, to me, sounded as if he otherwise would have been.

Stendel didn't sound confident at the weekend that Moore would be back for Pompey, but fingers crossed.

If they have a head injury how long does it take for them to come back?

The FA and Premier League have set out clear 'return to play' guidelines for players who are suspected to have suffered concussion. Essentially, no player will be allowed to return for a competitive game for at least six days.

There is no blood test or scan which can diagnose concussion. Diagnosis is made on the basis of history and examination.

The guidelines work on a step-by-step basis, with a player only allowed to progress a step every 24 hours - although this process can often take longer. The steps are: No physical activity, light aerobic exercise, sport specific exercise, non-contact training drills, full contact training, return to play (after an all-clear from the club's medical officer).

Seems if he plays or not is down to how he feels and nothing to do with rules, which is good.

Can't find it now but it was a quote from Dale Tonge. He definitely named Portsmouth (so it wasn't an old quote) and said it was because of the 2 week rule.

Edit: Found it, not direct quote but attributed to him.

They can use the 'Glasgow Coma Scale' (this is not a joke) assessment 3 to 15, but I don't think there is a GCS score in the FA guidelines. 3 is virtually dead and 15 is perfect.

Tonge says the player has to have a test dither 14 or 28 days after the incident occurs and how bad it was. Moore is 14 days so has the test on the Portsmouth day hence unable to bloody play. Luton dont play till sunday so we could be top of league on sat with two big wins. U reds

The GCS is not appropriate. It is used for assessing levels of consciousness not assessing the ability to play sport. The GCS may have been used when he was first assessed and taken to hospital, although I don't know as I have no idea if he was concussed.
It won't be used now. Scoring 15 on the scale, which I've no doubt Keiffer scores now and from the time he left hospital, does not mean he's in a position to play a contact sport. It means the person is awake can open his eyes converse normally and obey commands. It has nothing to do with being in a condition to play sport. You can have half your skull missing and score 15 on the GCS.

Correct. Jim Mcnulty never registered above a 4 on the GCS whilst he was here and he made loads of appearances
