Done well for himself since leaving us hasn’t he? Fair play to him.

    Hudds, Boro and Sheff Utd.

I know he’s not got loads of starts, but still.

Was he really that good, or does he just have a good agent?

I always rated him, but couldn’t have guessed he go on like he has.

Cracking assist in tonight’s game - especially he’s now gone to a RB.

I didn’t rate him. Wasn’t even the strongest link in the worst defence in the league. Can’t quite comprehend how he has remained at that level so long. Jason Shackell was miles better.

He's a defender's backup keeper. Happy to be 6th choice across a back four. Keeps himself fit, can step up for a couple of games every so often and takes the money. He's done it for several clubs for years now, and wasn't fantastic for us when we wanted him to play.

Feels unfair on the keepers now - the club's need them but don't ask much often, it's different with outfield players. Dunno, just always felt Cranie was a bit of a shyster.

I Totally disagree, a better player than Shackell who was ok bullying the smaller players but couldn't handle physical strikers.
Cranie reads the game better than most defenders I've seen in recent years and for that reason looks unspectacular....his problem is he just isn't big enough for top championship and premier league clubs.

Always thought he was a solid pro kinda like Sir Bobby. Strengths lie in leadership off the field n all that. I would welcome him at Oakwell as coach/academy manager after he retires.

I liked him. Not the most dominating centre back going but was solid enough and tidy on the ball.

I didn’t expect him to play for the clubs he has done after us though.

Played quite a number of games in the Premiership and has played for a number of the "better" teams. I'd label
him a " journeyman" who is dependable/reliable. When he played for us, at one point he was our captain and
he was twice voted Players player of the year.!

I rated him highly. Doesn't surprise me to see what he's gone on to do. Could operate anywhere across the back 4. Silky smooth on the ball.

@blivy If only we could have a team of Cranie's

    I thought he was rubbish.

Him, Nyatanga, M'Voto, Kennedy, Wiseman, McNulty... most of the defenders we had in that Robins/Hill/Flitcroft era were worth a goal start for the opponent.
