If Fulham go down, I guess there’s a chance Mawson might move on, like he did with Swansea. Does our interest end with the first sell-on, or might it continue? If Swansea had a sell-on clause with him, then are we entitled to a % of profit on that too? Just wondered.
Yes we get a percentage of any future profits that Swansea make on him which could potentially go a couple of clubs down the line
If ive worked this out right (figures and percentages are just for example) We sold to Swansea for £10m and got 100% of the profit so got £1m. We insert a 10% sell on clause. -- Swansea sold him to Fulham for £10m but don't insert a clause. We get £1m and that's the end of the line. Or -- Swansea sold him to Fulham for £10m and insert a 10% clause. We get £1m. ---- Fulham sell him to man utd for £10m and don't insert a sell on clause. Swansea get £1m. We get 100k of that £1m and that's the end of the line. Or ---- Fulham sell him to man utd for £10m and insert a 10% sell on clause. Swansea get £1m. We get 100k of that £1m. -------- Man utd sell him to Arsenal for £10m. Fulham get £1m, Swansea get 100k out of that £1mcand we get 10k out of that 100k. And so on. Unless I've cocked up of course
It’ll be interesting with Holgate too. Contracted until 2020 and on loan to WBA. Can’t see Everton wanting to lose him for nothing if they can’t tie him down for more years. Another potential small windfall too if he goes this summer.
Quite a number on the board agreed that Fulham were probably one of the best teams we played when we were in the Championship and they deservedly won promotion to the Premiership. In truth, when we played them , we possibly could have beaten them at Oakwell. were it not for Dimi Cavare getting his marching orders. Suffice it to say, they've had a hard time in the top division this season and the stark reality is , if they lose to Watford at Vicarage Road this evening, they will be relegated and will join Huddersfield Town back in the second tier. When that happens, there's a possibility that they will have to offload some of their highest paid players. He's been out injured for quite a while ,but it's not beyond the realms of reality that Alfie Mawson will be one of their highest paid players and therefore will in all probability be offloaded. We know we recieved a payment when we sold him to Swansea. Question is, will we recieve a payment if and when Fulham sell him.?
