Read the reply to fwf it explains the comment. And let's face it even when cavare has a good game you feel the need to come on here and pick faults in it so your never going to like him we get it.

I’ll gladly praise him when he has a good game, I’m still waiting.

Try the last home match we had not saying he is a world beater or out but you pick fault even when he does well, strange...

Disappointed saw the title and thought we were talking hair.... I can always remember Cilla black wanting to go back to her own natural colour ... I think they took her to Australia
Well it was reported they went down under and had to search way back in the Bush...

The last home game where he was casual and didn't attack or try and overlap because he couldn't be bothered. Really strange how you think that's acceptable.

We really do have some dreadful defenders. I mean look at the numbers of goals we’ve conceded this season.

Oh wait, the fewest in the league...

I think Cavare got a kick up the backside after the Wycombe away game and to be fair to him he has responded very well. However, Saturday was a lapse back to earlier in the season. It wasn't just the damn stupid challenge for the penalty but even in the first half he was getting caught upfield and walking back, something he's not done for a while.

Btw I think both Mowatt and Lindsay were at fault for the other incident. Mowatt for a terrible ball and Lindsay for not putting it staight into row Z.

Bit of a myth that hes good going forward. When we’re attacking he tends to be 10 yards too deep and doesnt look to overlap. When we’re defending he’s 10 yards too forward and doesnt look to get back. He can knock people off the ball with his customary 2 pinball runs per game but he isnt very good overall is he.

1st half he was one of our biggest attacking threats imo. And the bbs motm vote reflects that he has been a regular in the best defence in leafue 1. V Burton I thought a few had a off day especially midfield and bahre in particular so thought it was odd to single cavare out. I think he has been better since he was dropped earlier on in the season.

It depends what you consider a threat to be. If its being in an advanced area and not making the right movement, yes he's a threat. He's big, strong, knocks people over and doesn't get fouls against for some reason, he's quick once he gets going. They are all attributes that could pose threat. However, more often than not he flatters to deceive. He gets in threatening positions and does nothing with it. I'd be very interested to see the stats of how many times he wastes the ball from how many times he's in excellent positions.

Defensively he's fairly solid, when he's back there. He's very good at shielding the ball (which he should be with so much bulk), but he's a liability when it comes to defending the box. He's not great at blocking wide crosses and he's made so many rash challenges and given penalties... thankfully Davies has bailed him out twice.

I just see a huge irony. Eaden used to be slaughtered for being lazy and putting in poor crosses... though for me he was the best right back/wing back we've had, amazing player. Wiseman was slaughtered for not trying to cover back sometimes. We had people like Mellis and even Hourihane who had the hearts of peas. Yet the only player I've ever seen in a red shirt, see our opponent attacking the space he's vacated and only jog back, is Cavare.

If he created multiple chances each game and scored a few, and overlapped to free space for others, I might forgive the irrational challenges now and then, though I cant forgive not trying.

I just find it odd that so many players before him have been criticised, often unfairly, and Cavare has a cultish status despite such glaring weaknesses of character and effort.

But we'll agree to disagree, luckily Brown has massively helped him being ahead of him, but I'd be very surprised if Cavare is with us next season irrespective of what division we're in. And that will only allow us a better chance at promotion to the championship, or a better chance of avoiding relegation from it.

Yes we will have to agree to disagree brown was all over the place v Burton and gave him no help. I used to really like eaden to be honest and some of the stick he got was unfair.

Cavare didn't need help against Burton... seeing as they didn't attack us.

Thanks for the correction Tyke 67. I watched the highlights yesterday and it was indeed Pinnock's header late on. Only excuse I have is that I was seated to the right of the goal and the sun was low into our eyes from the left of the Fratton end so we had to shield our eyes continuously to see what was happening - clearly I either shielded mine too well or not enough !

That's ok LG, we were sat right behind the goal and saw Pinnock's header clearly
