It's a steady number...you never attend meetings, repeat the same paragraph to the press when needed, disagree with anything you do actually decide then retire on a pension while saying it's everyone elses fault
you could try looking at https://buildingourskills.co.uk/ and having a chat with them to see what they can advise
Not trying to sound like a dick, but would this be considered a 'career'? I'd consider this a job, not a career, but maybe I'm just arguing semantics. To me, a career is a skilled profession, not warehouse work.
I used to date a professional parachutist who suffered from IBS. I ended up leaving here after she constantly shat on me from a great height.
If you are under 50, I wouldn't advise any driving jobs - many of those will be automated out of the economy in the next 10 years. For the same reason, stay away from call centers and a lot of other similar roles. Painting and decorating is a good shout. Set your own hours and once you get a good reputation you won't even need to advertise.
Not sure a skilled profession defines career tbh. A career in the armed forces for instance where you’re learned something for that (industry ) but apart from life skills you could end up on civvy street without skills . Same as a career in mining , lots of people signed up for a career in mining but outside the industry apart from the fitters, electricians etc not many were considered skilled .
Look a company up called The Plastic Surgeon, with your background you would probably do well. They take on people with no experience, train them up and give you skills you can use for test of your life. I worked for them for 13 years, including running it for last 5 years before leaving.
Hi Donny, thank you very much much for your kind words re the Armed Forces earlier. I have looked high and low to try and find a link to getting a job delivering/couriering Passports as this would be ideal for me as I am now retired and it would help get me out and about again. I don't suppose your friend has a link to this job please?
Thank you for all the replies theres some food thought in there, although i hate painting lol. A trade does sound like the right course for me as i want to move abroad to canada at some stage. Im not sure which one however. I was looking at becoming a paramedic but the wages are poor and its shift work, would be a very rewarding but stressful job. Another option was train driving but that seems hard to get into as noone seems to leave because the wages are so high.
Northern were recruiting trainee train drivers before Xmas not sure if they still are just saw it advertised last year.
If you are thinking of going to Canada pal,get yourself a trade in anything to do with house building.I have never seen as many houses being built in my life, especially down in the Niagara region.
Sorry bud. He took redundancy and moved away and I don't have a following address or mobile number. Sites like Indeed or Trovit advertise jobs for Passport deliveries, failing that, go to the Home Office website and see if you can see anything there. Good luck, hope you can sort something out. https://jobs.trovit.co.uk/passport-delivery-jobs
