We used to see him on a regular basis catching the bus to the ground from Monk Bretton and his moods were such we could tell from his demeanour at the bus stop if he was likely to have a good game or not. RIP Bobby.

He was playing in midfield for the Reds when i started watching in 1974/5. A good servant to the club. RIP Bobby.

Willtom's first game taken to by my Dad and we stood on the muckstack!

I believe the Reds won 1-0 against Lincoln 1976 with the goal scored from the spot by the one and only Bobby Doyle. (Would like to know if my memory is correct, if there are any stattos out there!)

Thanks for the memories Bobby. RIP

Done the research.....we lost that game 0-1 so they must have scored the penalty and Bobby must have given it away.

    Oh who cares, Rip mester

Yes we lost 0-1 Bob Doyle had a penalty saved I think they scored from a breakaway as we were camped in their half for almost all match .
Graham Taylor was manager and I think Lincoln broke all sorts of records that season Mist points, goals etc and the fact we more than matched them tells a tale of our season .

Not quite what I said Spirit. He didn't go with us he went earlier on the old 76 Darfield Rd bus from opposite Copley's paper shop. He was lodged at an house on Burton Road.
