Available as a free agent. He’s 32 now but surely could do a job in L1 on a short stint till the summer???

Not before Joe Mason. Then would look at Agbonlahor before Best

If we’re looking at someone to cover, I’d be surprised if anyone had heard of the player that comes in.

Thoughts behind Leon best was his height and ability to hold ball up and be a good foil for Woodrow. Mason isn’t that and neither is Agbonlahor but I agree that Mason is a good shout to add to any L1 team but can’t help but feel he’d be out of our reach financially

Wouldn't be at all surprised if Gauthier is asked to scour France and
Germany to find an out of contract striker who could do a job for us.
Alternatively, there must be someone on the OGC Nice roster who
could be loaned to us. ?!Probably involve cancellation of his contract,
but if we start to struggle it's an option that might be worth considering.

    I don't think we'll bring anyone in.

If we did, especially an unfit out of contract player, it would be more damaging to a young group to effectively say, "you're not good enough"

Balotelli has left Nice recently.... he'd go down really well.

Ballotelli is playing for Marseille now. Salary somewhere in the region of £3 million
per annum. Clearly out of our reach, even if he wanted to come.
Someone like Myziane Maolida would do. He's 19 and worth circa £8.10 million and is a
Centre forward. Only problem is, he's contracted until June 2023, so his Nice deal
would have to be cancelled. Could take him until the end of the season and then
when he returned, they could resurrect his deal with OGC Nice.

I think you're asking for something to happen that is well out of our grasp and not even within Football League rules? We can only sign players who were unattached before the transfer window closed is my understanding.

Someone else might be able to shed more light on it than me. Also, we might have the same owners but there's no way we can force someone to come and play for us in League One when they're worth £10 million. You'd have an unhappy player and an unhappy squad/changing room. Not good.

Didn't realise that was the rule. So it's a non starter.

Messi would do from Barca, worth circa £500m, only problem is he’s contracted to 2022.

Could it be as simple as playing Browny up top and Bahre or Green out wide?

    Suppose we'll know on Saturday.

Think you may be right that or Dougall back in and McGeehan further forward. For my money Bahre in behind hasn't worked yet but still time for it to click too.

It's very easy to get carried away (and I'm as guilty as anyone) with putting Moores injury together with 2 goalless draws and fearing the worst.

OK, Moores absence will be far from ideal, but we still have goals in the team.

Agree about Bahre. I think there is a good player in there, but his distribution let's down his undoubted skill on the ball. Perhaps he would be better suited to a wide position?
