    You better not go to any swimming pools. The amount of chlorine in the pool in tenfold more than that in which the chickens are washed.

    The chlorine Isn't the entirety of the problem. It's used to kill off the higher prevalence of disease in US poultry as they have virtually no animal welfare protections and the conditions the birds are kept in are far less sanitary than ours.
    It also allows them to make meat seem fresh for longer when, in reality, it isn't.

    Beat me to it. Food standards are vital if we are going to fight cancer & other terrible afflictions, that cost the health service billions.

    Are there really people making an argument for us preferring US standards of food hygiene, animal welfare and environmental protection as against those imposed by the EU? Especially now Donny is diligently destroying every standard they themselves had put in place.

    So the US under secretary of state for agriculture DIDN'T specifically state that he hoped the button could be reset on our attitudes to chlorinated chicken as a result of brexit?

    It's not the amount I'm worried about it's why do they need to do it,There must be something wrong hygene wise in the first place, we do know that their hygene standards are way below our standards.

    There are lots of foodstuffs, even within the EU, that get the chlorine treatment. In appropriate doses.

    Hygiene wise, it's those low lifes who slash in the pool while they're showing off their verruca that need their lives chlorinated.

    We should just make it clear that we aren't lowering our food standards for any other country.
