The Chronicle article says: https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/reds-close-in-on-new-ceo-and-look-to-tie-down-stars "The football club owns half of Oakwell and hopes to eventually buy the other half from Barnsley Council. Conway said: “I was in Barnsley last week for a bunch of meetings about the infrastructure both with the local government and other parties. " Does that mean that Patrick's half has been purchased now or is it reporting the situation incorrectly? At the recent fans forum, that wasn't the impression given (but maybe wasn't explicit enough)
I assumed Conway and co bought Patrick's half with the football club, and the Council retained the other half?
Ah OK. I suppose at a guess then, they want to buy the Council share at the same time as the Cryne share. Can't imagine the current split would suit any of the parties, but would be interesting to see how the Council have approached meetings with them, given that safeguarding from rogue ownership was the whole point in the first place. Wonder what they're expected to do to demonstrate suitability?
Conway certainly does seem to state that the new owners now own half of the stadium (or at least 80% of that half).
