Davies - He's not back to his best. He's playing better than he ever has before. Cavare - The indiscipline of earlier in the season has largely gone. His decision making still needs some work but he's strong as an ox and he's now an asset not a liability. Pinnock and Lindsay. - Imperious Pinnillos - steadily improved throughout the season and now looks a good full back at this level. Mowatt - If he could shoot... Other than that he was excellent. Mcgeehan - Not quite Mowatt but not far off. Didn't like the stamp. Sheridan, I mean Dougall. If he can't win the ball he fouls them which is exactly what we need. Thiam - Didn't quite come off for him but not through lack of effort. Used well, he'd started to tire so we replaced him. Brown - We all have differing opinions but no one will ever convince me that tackling with one foot, winning the ball, not catching the man, who deliberately went down and feigned injury, is a sending off offence. Woodrow - Sam Winnall was the best goal scorer I ever saw play for Barnsley. Woodrow is more clinical. And great cameos by Green and Bahre, who should really have had a hattrick of assists. What stood out more than anything was the fitness and work rate. In injury time, after playing two thirds of the game with ten men, with the game long since won, we were breaking forward in numbers faster than most teams could manage in the first minute. At no point did we look down on numbers. Southend were simply blown away.
Davies - 7 Cavare - 8 Pinnock - 9 Lindsay - 9 Pinnilos - 8 Dougall - 8 McGeehan - 9 Mowatt - 8 Thiam - 7 Woodrow - 8 Brown - n/a Bahre - 7 Green - 8
Spot on Jay, with regards the Brown sending off, I’ve seen where folk have said that he had to go because the intent was there, Christ on a bike it will get to the stage where players will be getting sent off for giving a dirty look.
Didn't look like it to me, he didn't jump in with both feet and his foot was off the ground because that was where the ball was, if his foot WAS on the ground that would have showed intent since he would clearly have not been going for the ball. Very harsh decision which on reflection, the ref might regret. Probably not worth appealing, we never win them anyway.
Yea fair assesment jay one thing id like to add is stendel ..9 yet again we were all second guessing the team.... he picks it and even down to 10....makes us more effective. Yet again the subs....spot on. We were like eh....dougall off for green?!! we should be shoring this up....what do we know. ..great coach.
Agree with everything aside thiam, early on in the first half when he hit that shot he should’ve squared to cam, myself and people I was with could tell it wasn’t to he his day. Seemed to be upset with himself from that point on and probably let himself down. Needs to believe in himself a lot more in my opinion, there’s a class player in there somewhere.
Don't know you Jay, but if ever you want a job............. Summed up better than the sky pundits Has tha sent thi CV inter sky?
