Losing away at the best team in the league isn't good enough..... If that result is the last straw then he should have been sacked sooner or get to see the next match.
Didn't really care for Keef when he managed us, for his attitude towards his critics. Having said that, with the resources that Rochdale have at their disposal, I can't see any new Manager doing much better, unless the Club is taken over by a wealthy benefactor of course.
His second run there has been a success.... I know form hasn't been great, but who gets sacked after losing away at top of the league? The board decided that they would see what Rochdale could do at Luton, they lost and so Hill got fired. The timing is strange but maybe he will get the Bradford City job, which would be a good fit for him.
Love him or hate him.. Keith and Rochdale were a good fit... That said we don't know what if anything has gone on behind the scenes Sorry to see the marmite kid get the sack though... Doubt he will be out of football long. Best wishes to the bloke
Give them a couple of months and bowyer will be gone...... They change managers more often than they change the oil in their chip fryers
Strange timing as you say, Keith seemed a good fit at Rochdae, last season they were in a similar position and I believe only managed to stay up on the final day of the season. Not sure what their expectations are but he probably had to work with one of the smallest budgets in the division. Interestingly their long standing chairman Chris Dunphy (who constantly backed Hill) retired in December after 12 years in the role, wonder if the changes at boardroom level have brought about his departure. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46465894
Agreed. Will be interesting to see who comes in and if there is an improvement. They're not really a comfortable league one side, in fact I'm sure I read somewhere a few seasons ago that they were the least successful club in the league. I wouldn't be surprised if Hill was their most successful manager.
IIRC you are correct on both points. He has won 2 of their 3 promotions and they had the lowest average position of any team in the league since the 1920s.
I, for one, think it’s a great shame - I liked him (though he rubbed people up the wrong way at times) - he plays a style of football that I like. When Rochdale came to Oakwell at the end of January, they played really well & were unlucky to lose 2-1. I hope Rochdale don’t regret it but I feel that they will - they seemed a great fit for each other
Keefy? Shocking manager, deluded about his own self importance, never his fault, blah blah blah Pity who gets him next quite frankly thanks
